Don't get me wrong, I'd hate to see Shia but Robin is very much part of the Batman mythos and I don't have a problem with including the character.

If that's Olga Kurylenko... Hell yes!! Although she may be Black Widow in Iron Man 2. In which case, Rachel Weisz is perfectly fine in my book.

After watching bits & pieces of TDK today ... I suspect we may have already met the Riddler ... there was a certain Mr. E ...

Nesbit 12-25-08 01:21 AM

I just don't see Anthony Michael Hall as a lead in the sequel to one of the biggest movies of all time. People might not have agreed with Heath's casting but no one doubted he was a star.

DarkestPhoenix 12-25-08 09:29 AM

I think a Talia story would be pretty awesome, especially if Poppa made his surprise appearance at the end.

Motherfuckin' Lazarus Pit!!!

I always thought way before it was mentioned what role Anthony Michael Hall was playing, that he was most likely going to end up as The Riddler. He looks the part.

I wouldn't say this means anything, but he has gone from "dead as a door nail" to "might be in a coma".

Aaron Eckhart Hints at Harvey Two-Face Return?

That's a really well written article.

^ that was a really awkward Golden Globe interview but I think its just funny to Eckhart cause people are still obsessing about it. I'm doubtful it means anything cause Nolan stated he hasn't started working on the third movie yet.

Nolan has started working on the third film even though he's not officially committed. The film's producer Chuck Roven told us last week that Nolan and Goyer have begun brainstorming together.

I'm pretty sure they've been "brainstorming" since at least the death of Heath since he's was supposed to come back in the third movie. But brainstorming is just thinking of stuff but I'd rather him take another three years to come out with a good product rather than rush something into production. I'll wait. Batman's not going anywhere.

Learn to pay attention. BJ has stated in the past that he works for MTV News.

Thinking aloud about plot possibilities...

Dent is in a coma, vegetative, brain-dead. Perhaps he gets treated with new "Lazarus" pharmaceuticals, a spin-off of Wayne Enterprises or a rival corp, whatever. Investigative links to a majority shareholder named Talia. Ostensibly, she's trying to revive Dent to expose his role in the deaths attributed to Batman and further weaken Gotham's morale, faith, confidence in order, to continue the job her father started. Secondary objective is to use Dent as a "test" subject in order to successfully revive her father.

How you could drop the "Riddler" in there, I dunno... Instead of goofy riddles and gimmicks, maybe make him some kind of string-pulling "mastermind" type who engineers a plot to flood Gotham with Joker "wannabes" in order to keep Batman "busy" while Talia is busy enacting her machinations?

Feh. I'll leave this to Nolan, Nolan, & Goyer. :(

They could bring Two-Face back, but what would be the point? His arc is essentially done in The Dark Knight. Plus he'd need some skin grafts real soon or else he'll die from infection.

The only point in having Two-Face survive into a third film is if Nolan and Co. went with some sort of redemption storyline for both him and Batman.

I can see Two Face being 1 part of the movie, kinda like they did with the Scarecrow in TDK and moving onto the next villian(s).

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

IIRC, Nolan said in the Dark Knight BD-Live chat that Two-Face is definitively dead.

Of course, if they think of a good story reason to bring him back, I'm sure he'll be back.

Am I the only one who thinks Charlie Hunnam ("Sons Of Anarchy") would be a good choice to play The Joker post-Ledger?

Barry, while Hunnam has some physical similarity, and played a ghoulish villain in Cold Mountain, I don't think he's enough to fill Ledger's clown shoes.

Right, but he also said that because of that he's working to develop a new IMAX camera that is less cumbersome and isn't as loud. Apparently he seems keen on shooting an entire film in the format, so it wouldn't surprise me if he got it together in time for filming.

he could do just do the alternate: shoot the film in traditional 65mm stock.

How cool would it be to shoot both and release both? I'm sure IMAX would throw some cash around if they could show a special IMAX version of the film in their theaters while regular theaters get the normal version. And I'm not talking cropping scenes shot in IMAX for the regular print, I'm thinking 2 differently shot movies.

Giles 01-28-09 12:46 PM

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

what I meant was that since Nolan had problems with the IMAX cameras (heavy and loud), 70mm for the entire film would be less expensive and could easily be put onto IMAX film stock without any loss of resolution/sharpness.
