Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

Given Nolan's suggestion that this is inspired by Tale of Two Cities, I'm kind of curious as to who plays certain roles.

My guess:

Bane= The mob and DeFarges
Batman/Bruce Wayne/Possibly JGL=Sydney Carton
Spoiler:
While we've had no confirmation, this is an argument about JGL taking up the Batman mantle momentarily and maybe dying in the process, as Carton took on the role of another man to die so that another may survive. Of course Wayne might be the one giving his life for the good of the city, but the connection is stronger with JGL IMO.

So if you met him on the street and knew that can beat the crap out of Batman, that wouldn't be a scary situation?

How would I know he beat the Bat? Does Gotham even know that in TDKR? Questions to ask. I'd be disturbed by a fellow of his size and look in general.

He's on a different level than Joker, who was both intimidating and scary.

is he 5'9? Damn. I'm taller than Hardy in that case. I wouldn't find him intimidating at all in that case.

Bane is intimidating and scary. His visual itself isn't frightening. It's what he means is what's terrifying.

I guess bruiser villains do not seem scary on first thought. Methinks Nolan chose Bane as badguy slot #1 because maybe of James Bond, in Inception a whole part of that was based around On Her Majesty's Secret Service, so he likes the realistic Bonds, and to him Bane is going to be his own Red Grant 'no powers no nonsense' badguy.

Ordered that book on Amazon. It sounds pretty cool to me and covers the entire trilogy. It has things like case files on the villains, documents, maps of the Batcave, and a bunch of other cool sounding stuff.

"I've seen worse cartilage in knees."

"That's good."

"No, that's because there is no cartilage in your knee, scar tissue on your kidneys, and concussive damage to your brain tissue. I cannot recommend that you go Heli-Skiing."

This soundtrack is ungodly epic.

"Imagine The Fire" is incredible.

That was my favorite also. Definitely loud and bold (like Bane), I prefer most of it over TDK's style.

So, just out of curiosity (and idiocy) I peered at the boards over at IMDb. And, sure enough, there's a thread about the ending. And I just had to peek...
