And the past tense of "cast" is "cast". There is no such word as "casted."

Probably about the same as Chris Nolan making Batman & Robin 2.

I need to get all these rumors straight.
Hoffman as Penguin Jolie as Catwoman Depp as Riddler then like four years ago... Bettany or Crispin Glover as Joker. Umm yea, I'll believe these things when I see them. |
Personally, I'm disappointed that Two-Face was "Venomed," especially 'cause I was hoping for #3 to be a huge Two-Face vs. Black Mask battle for the mob in a very Departed/American Gangster/Escape from New York-ish style, with Batman caught in the middle.
It could also open up a possibility for Catwoman, especially considering how she figures into Spoiler:
|
I seriously doubt they can get Chris Nolan to do more than a 3rd movie, if even that. What I'd like to see (not a big surprise to anyone) is a perfect trilogy: Batman Begins, TDK, now TDK Returns. Aging Batman, aging Joker...you get the drift. New actors all around, and the comparisons probably wouldn't happen as much, since you'd have older actors playing the key roles. Could be a great bookend trilogy.

I completely agree. Batman is a hit, along with Superman, Spiderman and Ironman. There will always be hardcore fans that will make the film a hit. However, I also agree that I dont know how they expect to beat the Dark Knight but Nolan most definitely has something up his sleeve and I am waiting to see what it is.

In every interview, every Q&A, Nolan said he really wasn't thinking about a third film when he made this one. However, he did say that would be talk to WB when he got back from vacation. I don't think he wants his very next film to be Batman 3, though.
|
Something called "cash" helps people decide to make these movies. This "talk" is how much $$$$ WB will pay him.

Heres some tasty rumors:
BATMAN 3 Coming Soon? http://www.batman-on-film.com/BATMAN...n_9-29-08.html Could a Nolan-helmed BATMAN 3 be further along than we know? Possibly. Over the last several weeks, I’ve been hearing that very early pre-production on what will ultimately be the third Nolan BATMAN is about to begin. What’s interesting is that info seems to be originating from folks who worked on TDK behind the scenes -- set builders, stuntmen, film crew, etc. -- in Chicago. I have no proof to offer at this time other than first and secondhand accounts from various individuals who are part of that aforementioned group. So how far along is the next Bat-Flick? My guess is not very far at all. I believe that writers David Goyer and Jonah Nolan both have an idea of what they’d like to do, but there certainly isn’t a screenplay yet. Goyer himself said (at the TDK press junket in June ‘08) that Chris Nolan didn’t contact him about doing another one until three months after BATMAN BEGINS. Going by that timeline, perhaps “Team Nolan” will start discussing a sequel this October. And remember, we didn’t get the official word on THE DARK KNIGHT until July of 2006 -- a full year after BATMAN BEGINS’ run in theaters. As far as this buzz coming from former TDK crew members, there’s probably something to this as you can’t hire these guys at the very last minute. If sets need to be built and other miscellaneous pre-preproduction projects need to get done, I suspect that readying these things a year and a half/two years in advance is NOT out of the question. |
WB won't wait until July 2009 to announce Batman 3. They'll announce it before the ink on the contract is dry.

maybe the next go round they can give Nolan all the money he needs to shoot the entire movie in IMAX ;)

I don't think Nolan felt that was really feasible from a technical standpoint. IMAX cameras are huge, the magazines are tiny, and they're loud as hell.

Right, but he also said that because of that he's working to develop a new IMAX camera that is less cumbersome and isn't as loud. Apparently he seems keen on shooting an entire film in the format, so it wouldn't surprise me if he got it together in time for filming. |
Well, in that case, bring it on!
|
so the rumor is that very early pre-production is possibly about to begin in the next few months?
i'm stunned! :) |
According to this interview with screenwriter David Goyer, "It's all BS."

Let's hope not. TDK just came out for fuck's sake. I don't want to see a third one immediately rushed into production this soon. |
The last thing we need is a redux of X-Men: The Last Stand, so I agree the sequel should digest into something worthwhile and not rushed together to impulsively make a release date. Then again, Tom Rothman doesn't run WB.
