I'd be all kinds of happy for a 100% IMAX shot film. Of course, the general public wouldn't really give a damn but we film fans would wet ourselves to that idea.

I've got it bad for Kate Beckinsale, so I'm biased. But I think she'd be the perfect choice for Catwoman, if the character is even going to be in the film. She's stunning, oozes sex appeal, can pull off the action scenes, and brings the acting chops, especially with a great cast and a director like Nolan. She's also the perfect age, mid 30s, and looks unbelievable in skin tight latex. I can't think of a better choice. I'm sure someone will disagree. But this is just one man's opinion.

I don't like Angelina for the role. She's a safe, but incredibly boring choice. Then again I've never cared for Jolie period.

I'll agree that Jolie would be the safe but boring choice. I'm not a fan of Beckinsale, I enjoyed Underworld though. She is forgettable though in The Aviator. I don't mind her being Selina Kyle. Nolan would make her a strong a character so it'd all be cool.

As of now, they can't shoot a full feature in IMAX.

Why would anyone want Catwoman is Batman 3? You do realize this is an action movie and it would end up with those two fighting right?

Filming in IMAX or the idea of it is possible.

What are the limitations of IMAX btw? If any, that is...

RyoHazuki: Yeah...we all kinda know that. It's just the whole love play they have considering that Batman is a bit off and to be involved with a woman dressing like a cat, add in that she's a cat burglar, makes it interesting.

The cameras are incredibly loud, it makes it nearly impossible to do a scene with much dialogue. They are heavy and expensive. Because they have such a high resolution the crew needs to be extra cautious about leaving stuff on the set, make up needs to be near perfect.

It could just go wrong so many ways. Batman shouldn't be physically matched up against a woman in tight leather with a whip. Not in the Nolan Batman universe. Are they gonna have a karate fight?

Can't be any worse then the fight scenes in Batman Begins. :)

But really, I imagine any "fight" would involve chasing over rooftops rather then straight up hand to hand combat. I doubt that a martial arts battle between the two would be the climax of a film if she was in it.

well the fighting could always be strength (batman) vs speed/agility (catwoman)...I don't see much of a problem if they go head to head.

Disagree! But opinions differ.

I'm not even sure Catwoman is going to be in the film. Just offered an opinion if she was. In fact, I'd guess the Riddler would be the villain.

As for the fighting, Batman never really got into many long fist fights with the joker either, and that character is less believable in a fight with Batman than Catwoman. So I don't buy the notion that Batman can't face off against a female character.

RyoHazuki 08-26-09 07:38 PM

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

Joker has goons though, Catwoman works alone. Joker also uses deadly weapons, Catwoman uses a whip.

Unless she dies while being chased, they're still gonna have to fight each other.

Nolan would probably have IMAX build something to suit his needs like Jim Cameron does when he needs specific cameras.

I wish people would verify their stories before posting here.

I don't think there is a single person here that thought it was legit, we're just discussing.

I could handle Beckinsale as Catwoman but it would be nice to see a villain we haven't seen before.

Johnny Depp could reprise his role of The Mad Hatter from Alice In Wonderland!

True. Johnny Depp or Michael C. Hall for Riddler!!!

Zen Peckinpah 08-26-09 08:23 PM

Michael C. Hall would kick ASS as the Riddler. I'd say him, Edward Norton, or Michael Shannon.

Nick Martin 08-26-09 08:47 PM

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

Michael C. Hall and Anthony Michael Hall in the same movie? Wouldn't they destroy the movie's universe like relationship George and independent George would?

I don't know about this...

I'd like to see Guy Pearce in a Nolan Batman film.

I think I had previously mentioned Guy Pearce as my pick for The Riddler.
