Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
I have the Tony Mankiewicz script. It's great until Bruce becomes Batman. It was very dark and brooding but once he becomes Batman, he becomes far too public a figure. He even gets the key to the city in a public ceremony. But I did like the downer ending. That reminded me of OHMSS.
I totally loved the script for Darren Aronofsky’s “Batman: Year One”. Yes, it would have been extremely polarizing but I would have loved to have seen it filmed. At the very least, I'd like to see it turned into a feature length animated movie.

Being of Mexican descent, we decided based on the coloration and hair that it was El Robin, the Vato Wonder. And that's what we told our younger cousin when we gave the toy to him.
Come to think of it, that may be what made him a lifelong Robin fan. (Yes, they exist.)

Burton's Batman Forever could have been interesting, although I'm not sure I like all of his ideas for casting, particularly Marlon Wayans who I just have a hard time seeing as Robin in any way. Aronofsky's Batman Year One could have been decent too, although the Alfred story from it sounds kind of stupid (Big Al and Little Al ). Batman vs. Superman seems like it could have gone either way.
I personally still feel like a Batman Beyond movie could work out if they did it right. It'd keep the series from getting stale without having to go back and do another reboot completely.
As for Robin. I like the character but I'm glad that Nolan has kept him out of the movies truthfully. He just seems like something that doesn't translate as well to live action for some reason. He works in animated versions of Batman and the comics but live action just doesn't work as well I feel. I think Nightwing would be more interesting but to do that properly you'd almost have to at some point have Dick Grayson introduced as a younger character unless they went the flashbacks route but I dunno if I'd like that either.

I can't believe all of the times Schumacher tried to return to the franchise, thank goodness it never happened. If he were to make the fifth Batman movie today the way he wanted, I have a feeling we would say Lady GaGa as Harley Quinn instead of Madonna. Neither would have helped.
I think a Batman Beyond is plausible. Wait a while until Bale is of the correct age, then give it a shot. Given the context of the 2001 original animated one, they could almost do a Return of the Joker movie.

C'mon Dr. DVD you know you loved the deliciously mad-party hijinks of Forever's Two Face and Riddler @ the party making fun of Batman as he beats the crap out of their goons doing aerial splits.
Speaking of that there are a lot of parties going on @ Batman movies, either Bruce Wayne is walking around ball rooms a lot or a villain just happens to "crash the party" (hyuk) or Batman.

Man, if you told twelve-year-old me that I'd get to see movies of John Carter, the Avengers, and Batman all in one summer my little would have exploded. I just hope the other two films aren't as disappointing as JC was.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
well...they might put it on a re-release of TDK as they did on BB w/ TDK's coming of. Also...the prologue is on Youtube and the whatnot...I don't think you'll get a clean version of it till it's officially released.

I can suspend belief enough to believe in a man wearing a bat costume fighting crime but not when it comes to the part with the two ferry boats in TDK. Hopefully there isn't anything as stupid as that in this film.

Not uproariously funny, but amusing.

Calling Bane retarded brings unpleasant memories of Schumacher's Bane. This Bane may sound like he has a speech impediment, but a speech impediment doesn't make you retarded. This isn't the first time Batman has fought a villain with a speech impediment either. Ventriloquist has a speech impediment that causes him to say the letter B like it is a G.
Weakness to cookies? That's actually Martian Manhunter. No joke. Martian Manhunter is addicted to Oreo cookies.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
The only "new" rumor out now is that the run time will be just over 2 hours, not even 2 and a half. There's just no way anyone will know that if the film isn't finished yet.

Thanks! I don't know why, but Bane sounds a little more coherent there than I recall, or maybe because I've read the scripted version enough to know what he's saying.
