Thank you for the clarification. But I don't think the voice is the problem given all the new mix has reportedly done is lower the ambient sounds. If that's all it took for people to now suddenly understand Bane, it's not a voice work issue but a soundmix issue.

Kind of like how people complain that certain movies have the music and sound effects so loud that they drown out the dialogue and make it difficult to understand. The dialogue itself is not the problem. The problem is everything surrounding it.

Gotcha. I think we'll need more accounts of how the new sound mix is before judgment. I imagine it will help, but I still think that there are issues with the clarity of Bane's voice because of the way its muffled, something that eliminating all the other ambient noise wouldn't help with.

Also, I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but translators often have to listen to people speak English in different accents, and travel around the world. We're exposed to MANY different accents and learn to find them easier to understand than you normal people who like to pretend you do for Batman movies. I'm sorry this interpretation of what I said went right past you. I'll stop wasting time and fully break down my inferred meanings for you next time.

Wrong.

Yes, and everyone else is wrong. Back to the chief argument that you Nolan-apologists love making. You're able to mysteriously understand Bane so fuck everyone else.

Don't know about everyone else here but fuck this. I'm putting this guy on ignore. This guy is not only arrogant as all hell, he's insulting everyone here as well. Fuck it.

That's a good point. If just the prologue and one line in the trailer has polarized folks, it'll be interesting to find out how much a remix will truly help viewers during the full length feature.

I had that problem with "Inception" in theaters, but not at home when watching it on disc. The score was far too loud and drowned out the dialogue.

Mod Note: I'm getting a lot of complaints about this thread. I don't see anything that requires mod action. Remember, if you don't want to converse with someone, there is always an ignore button.

Happened to me when Mal said to Saito "that was close. Too close." And I remember similar complaints when the Joker said "stranger" in the The Dark Knight prologue. The BD is mixed a bit better but still a tad forced in that line.

It's crazy, most Nolanites think criticism of his movies is a ban-able offense. I've seen it time and time again. I've been banned from two forums because of it.

A lot of people need to realize that there's a difference between being personally attacked and being irrationally offended because you take things personally.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

It's interesting how some people will resort to generalizing (calling people "Nolanites" or whatever term people want to use) to justify threadcrapping, arrogance and just plain looking down on others.

In a Star Wars thread replace Nolanite with "Lucas apologist" or whatever else, and it's the same thing.

Perhaps Mr. Askew is too full of himself to understand that, which is probably the real reason for his being banned on two forums.

Being a fan or not a fan of Christopher Nolan is irrelevant (in my case it is, can't speak for others here because I'm not arrogant enough to make that assumption). The real issue here is the behavior being displayed and using generalizations to justify it, but of course he will never see it that way. Going onto boards and treating others like shit, then whining about being a supposed victim of fanboys...well if that's not a bunch of bullshit, I don't know what is.

Everyone was whining about it everywhere. Here, and every board that discusses this. I was whining about the fact that people were whining about it. Also, I didn't say "you whiny little bitches" so I wasn't calling anyone that specifically!

(Therefore if anyone wanted to take that personally, it's all on them, man)

:D

EDIT:

Turns out, WB debunked the story today, claiming there was no truth to it and Collider was wrong.

Oops on them.

Always interesting to see a surge in posts for this thread, thinking it's something major, then finding out it's just bickering between to members. ;)

Glad they decided to clean up the audio on the IMAX prologue. I will admit that the surround sound, as is so often the case with IMAX, was going full blast. FWIW, I had a bit of trouble understanding some of the dialogue in M:I when I took in the IMAX showing.

So now when Bane speaks, the background sound goes down, there is almost silence, and Bane's voice is crystal clear, then when he stops talking for a few seconds, the background sound rises up.

Gonna be a lot of rising in this movie.

At what point do repetitive comments like the one above become considered trolling? I don't know if trolling is something that is against the forum rules, but it shouldn't be fair to suggest that all the members who actually anticipate enjoying this film ignore a certain poster.

How is a joke trolling? I know some of you don't like me, but at least try to make sense when you make your complaints.

Also, it's hilarious that hypocrites who actually outright call other posters "whiny bitches" have the nerve to complain. That's more of a "bannable offense" than anything I said.

But feel free to complain to the mods in the hopes of having something happen whenever I make a joke. Or you could simply use the ignore button, as you've been instructed to multiple times, if I hurt your precious feelings that much.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

In my opinion, when someone consistently trolls a board and uses phrases like "if I hurt your precious feelings that much" they should be reprimanded or suspended. Obviously the majority of the community agrees. The mod does not, so be it. However, to argue that it isn't technically against forum rules is, to quote our friend here, "utterly ridiculous".
