Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

What movie is the regular trailer supposed to be attached to? Mission Impossible or Holmes?

Yep. It was a faked car accident in both Knightfall and Hush.

It's on Sherlock Holmes, just saw it on Friday. Not sure if non-IMAX theater showings of Mission: Impossible will have it or not.

Hush is almost a beat for beat rewrite of The Long Halloween, except for the scenes in Metropolis. He uses the exact same twist from Long Halloween. I first read Hush when the Absolute Edition came out, and I disliked it so much that I threw it in a corner on the floor where it's been collecting dust ever since.

I realize it's fairly similar and that Hush basically switches out the title character aka Jason Todd for the Holiday killer. Still though I thought the story was okay I guess. I might have fond memories of it since it's one of the first trades I picked up admittedly.

I saw Sherlock on Friday and DKR was NOT on it. Yet I got to see the Battleship trailer. Joy.

I saw it attached to both Holmes and MI4 IMAX.

All this talk of the comics and I've never read any of them and still have no desire to at all. Fuck it's just easier to stick to the movies alone.

I mean the ownership could have also been a contributing factor to shooting in Pittsburg as well, depending on how badly they wanted that football scene.

Yeah, you were right about it being related to the Steelers ownership. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11147/1149433-66-0.stm

Its already known that Nolan hates Robin and will never use the character, and yet he decides to tease us anyway. That's harsh.

I hated the Robin character, too, based upon the Clooney Batman movie, but I've been reading the Morrison Batman books, and I really like the Dick Grayson as Nightwing/Batman deal. I never read when he was Robin, and Damian is a little shit, so I can understand why folks would dislike Robin.

The story of Grayson, though, is a pretty good one, and if it was well-written and well-executed, it could be really good. As for in these Nolan movies, though, I'm not imagining it happening. Why, though, is JGL so prominently featured? He's got to tie in somehow, right?

Nolan didn't make the signs those fans are holding. It was a public casting call to fill the stadium with extras and they made their own signs for the two teams playing the game.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

Christopher Nolan not changing Bane's voice:

http://blog.moviefone.com/2011/12/20...ice-sound-mix/

Did you hear what Bane said in 'The Dark Knight Rises' trailer? No, really: did you actually hear him? Because judging from the Internet reaction -- and likely your own two ears -- Bane was about as easily understood in the new teaser as Benicio Del Toro was in 'The Usual Suspects.' (He'll flip you, for real.) Not that Christopher Nolan minds. According to sources, the unintelligible villain is all part of the Batman director's master plan.

According to THR, Warner Bros. executives are none-too-pleased that the prevailing reaction to both the 'Dark Knight Rises' trailer and double-secret-probation IMAX footage has been, "What?"

"One source working on the film says he is 'scared to death' about 'the Bane problem,'" writes THR, while adding that some within the halls of Warner Bros. want Nolan to change the mix. Unfortunately for them, the director isn't planning on doing anything more than "slightly" altering the sound.

"Chris wants the audience to catch up and participate rather than push everything at them," one "high-level executive" anonymously told THR. "He doesn't dumb things down. You've got to pedal faster to keep up."

Right! Or, maybe listen harder? Perhaps Warner Bros. should think about handing out hearing aides to people who buy tickets for 'The Dark Knight Rises' when it comes out on July 20, 2012. Just spitballing here.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

Yeah what kind of nonsense is that? People can't understand English?

I heard it the first time with no problem, and I liked the effect of the mask changing the voice.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I like how Nolan doesn't want to "dumb things down" by changing Bane's voice...has he read some of the dialogue these characters are spouting (at least from what we've seen so far)? I don't think he could "dumb things down" any further!
