The football field blowing up looked terrible.

It's all mob based right? I haven't read much of the newer stuff if he's done that. I remember not being the biggest fan of his Catwoman mini from 2004.

And I'm really wondering why the hell they haven't released Tom Fontana's Batman story yet...he wrote it 5 or 6 years ago apparently.

Maybe Cameron can sue Nolan for $2.5 billion...you know, to hedge his bets. :)

Like something from Final Destination movies.

Yay, I found someone else that doesn't care for the Dark Knight Returns :p

I don't like it either. I own approximately 3,000 Batman related comics from about 1986 to present day, and The Dark Knight Returns is definitely not a part of my collection.

I'm reading it for the first time in a while. It's not bad but I don't exactly love it I guess. It's a tad overrated if you ask me.

Hush is one of the best Batman stories written if you ask me though. I agree his work can be kind of samey, but still think his stories are very good. I haven't read The Long Halloween in such a long time I can't comment on it but I seem to remember liking it.

It probably doesn't help that I didn't read Dark Knight Returns until much, much later after the entire comic book industry went to more darker themes (i'm only 29 now). I imagine if I read it earlier it would have some more impact. That and I hate the artwork.

On the flip side, I enjoyed Hush and love The Long Halloween. I'm mainstream like that. :p

lol

Hush's story was complete crap. It made no sense at all. The only saving grace was Jim Lee's beautiful artwork, and that is typically what is remembered most about that story, not the actual story itself.

The best time for Batman comics was the late 80s/early 90s when Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle were on the books. Their work was spectacular.

I read it when it first came out, and didn't like it then either. I have tried re-reading it as an adult, thinking that it just went over my head when I was a kid, and I still didn't like it.

The two-minute trailer is all I have seen.

Must keep faith in Nolan.

Meh whatever I liked it. I do agree though that Grant was a great Batman storyteller as well though.

That's Grant Morrison, not Alan Grant.

I realize I'm probably making too big a deal out of it but not a fan of that.

The trailer itself looks cool Bane isn't the easiest to understand but I was able to make out his lines ok, not so much in the leaked prologue though. Hopefully his dialog is clear in the actual film of this will be one I'll need subtitles for.

Well...I don't watch football. And I don't care they used a real football guy. It doesn't matter in the scheme of things. He's not that big of a personality that it hurts it.

Senator Patrick Leahy had a cameo in the Dark Knight and I don't see anybody from Vermont complaining about it!

Hines Ward won a season of "Dancing With The Stars", and we all know that there's never anyone famous on that show ;)

I can't get into The Dark Knight Rises because the guy from American Psycho is in it. Totally takes me out of the film because I know he's not really Bruce Wayne.

The Legendary Pictures studio head is a part owner of the Steelers, so that explains why they're being used (and the player names for recognition). Probably got them at a discount for that sequence.

Yeah I realized after I posted that I messed up the names. I liked his run on the "Shadow of the Bat" series though.

Question about Knightfall:

Spoiler:
How does Bruce explain his back being broken?

Polo accident.

I thought it was a car accident. Didn't they smash up one of Bruce's cars to explain it.

Horses are more of a Superman problem.

Yeah you're right, I was thinking of how they'll explain it in the movies. Actually, didn't they use that excuse in Hush also?

Didn't they use Polo Accident as an excuse in Batman Begins? Maybe I'm mis-remembering.

Yeah, I just rewatched Begins the other night and Alfred mentions that he should take up polo to explain the bruises that he gets from fighting crime.

Or, it's because they shot in Pittsburgh and were the team that were most handy to use players from. ;)
