What about former WCW World Heavyweight Champion David Arquette?

Calling Randy Couture a pro wrestler is slap in the face. Calling Randy Couture an actor is a slap in the face to acting.

The only former pro wrestler that has any acting ability is Duane Johnson. He's no Oscar contender but he's been perfect in roles like The Rundown, Walking Tall and Gridiron Gang. Let's not forget that he was the only watchable part of Be Cool. It's just too bad he's taken such shitty roles like The Game Plan. He needs to be in fluffy action/comedy movies and he'll be great. Throw him into the occasional serious role and he'd be good at that too.

As iconic a line as "I'm here to chew bubble gum and kick ass..." is, Roddy Piper really didn't do a good job delivering it. Kevin Murphy did a better job of it as Santa Claus on MST3K.

Gotta go with Ventura: "I ain't got time to bleed."

I guess you're totally forgetting the point that The Game Plan and its opening is what made Johnson in Hollywood. His other movies certainly did decent business -- I think, aside from Southland Tales, that they all opened at #1 -- but The Game Plan showed that he could both open and carry a movie.

At any rate, his next two movies are Race to Witch Mountain and Tooth Fairy, so I think you'll be seeing a lot more of "family friendly" Dwayne Johnson and a lot less of "21st Century Chuck Norris" Dwayne Johnson -- all the better for The Rock's post-wrestling career, I'd say.

I think The Rock and Ventura are at the top of the list, and everyone else is far behind.

Piper was good in THEY LIVE, but not much else - when an actor's good in just one movie, that's often more the sign of a good director than a good actor.

It's funny this thread got started, because someone made a list of the "Top Ten Wrestling Thespian Flicks"

Hmmm...it might almost be worth renting that one just to see Chris Kattan get slaughtered.

Apparently this guy was a professional wrestler for a period before turning to acting, so you'd have to put him above anyone else on the list.

How could I forget Kola Kwariani, aspiring chess player and paid distraction in The Killing:

...And Stanislaus Zbyszko (at left) the principled wrestler in Night and the City: "You see what I do to your clowns!"
