I was just reading another thread, and it made me wonder: What movie on IMDB's Top 10 just doesn't belong there?

I'm removing The Dark Knight for pretty obvious reasons: to avoid those who would smack it just because it's new. So of those listed above, which would you throw out, and also, what is the one movie you'd put INTO the top ten (sorry, no TDK!)

For me, I'd have to remove Shawshank, but I absolutely LOVE the movie. And I'd put in: The Maltese Falcon. TMF is just a FANTASTIC movie with outstanding performances from all.

Replace Pulp Fiction with Citizen Kane. And Shawshank with Seven Samurai.

Casablanca definitely needs to get off that list.
12 Angry Men is great but not top 10 material.

One nice thing about this thread, is it's going to make me remember utterly FANTASTIC movies that are favorites of mine (Sunset Blvd. was one mentioned here - DEFINITELY in my top ten, and Double Indemnity may be in my top ten as well). But also, hopefully, some movies will be mentioned that me or someone else HASN'T seen and will push me/you into putting that one on the top of your netflix or blockbuster queue.

P.S. Schindler's List could have just as easily been mine to remove.

Empire Strikes Back.

It had some really great moments, but on the whole? It wasn't that phenomenal to me.

Replace Shawshank with The Thing.

I think Shawshank is a fantastic film, but I really don't think it should be in the top 10 of all time.

Voted for Casablanca, but oops, should've picked Shawshank. The top 10 needs some equality with a litte romance thrown in there.

Empire is out for me. Not sure what I'd replace it with, as I don't consider my favorite movies to be really Top 10 of all time (Usual Suspects and LA Confidential)

12 Angry Men

And I'd replace it with Dr. Strangelove.

The only top ten list 12 Angry Men deserves to be in is a "most overrated" list. The blatant un-realism in that movie bugs me almost as much as Henry Fonda does.

Shawshank must go immediately. That movie is INSANELY overpraised.

It doesn't hold a candle to any of those other films. Although I'm not too fond of "Cuckoo's Nest" either.

Hard to choose. The only four that belong are the two Godfathers, maybe Casablanca, and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Empire should be replaced by Sunset Blvd, Nights of Cabiria, Nashville or (duh) Citizen Kane, which has inexplicably fallen all the way to 28.
