No Ledger = No sale.
Of course, i'm there. I'm just surprised/disappointed that there's no midnight showings for this.

That sucks, we got midnight showings here.

Isn't it your theaters decision as to whether or not they give midnight showings? The movie opens July 25th, so at midnight they can start showing it whenever they want, at least I'd think so.

8 years ago, I would have been in the front of the line of a midnight showing. The fervor around this show has died down, and the previous film was really confusing and disappointing. I don't know why they're even making it. How they're going to fit this into the continuity of the ending of the show is also really troubling.

Their not. Its a 'monster of the week' style movie.

The marketing for this film has been virtually non existent. As a big fan of the TV show, I plan on seeing it in the theater, but I don't think it will be a big money maker at all. Other than the die-hard fans, I can't image too many casual moviegoers even know this films exists.

I've heard this film is either the worst attempt at an X-Files film they could have made, or it's a full-on love letter to fans of the series. Either way, I'm there opening night.

No midnight showings here either. I hope this movie is good. If it is half as good as some of the best monster of the week episodes then it should be entertaining. The X-Files is probably the only show I watched every night that it was on. I recently just bought all nine seasons and have worked my way up to season 3 and have had a great time revisiting them.

well Hancock has made close to 200 mil. and it has a RT rating of 38%
So I've got no problems with the current low rating for X-Files, I'll be seeing it regardless.

Although I knew of the mythos of "the Conspiracy," I think my negative feelings towards the film was that they basically took their formula for one hour shows and lengthened it into a two hour movie. Too much emphasis on action-sequences at the bookends and a lot of talk in the middle.

I am a big fan of the X-Files from the begining. But, "The Conspiracy Mythos" has started to bore me. When I watch my X-Files DVD's I will generally hop around to the stand alone episodes. I'll probably wait for the DVD release. "The X-Files Fight The Future" movie does look like a lenghtened TV episode. The trailer for the new film seems like more of the same. Ten years is an awfully long time to finally come out with a sequel.

I'm ready to see this on Friday. I have my $8.50 off Movie Ticket from the X-Files DVD, which I am grateful to have (Unlike someone in this forum)
I guess an appearance from Walter Skinner is probably not in the cards for this movie.
I am hoping at least for a cameo from Krychek.

I've worried about this movie from the start, largely due to the minimal budget (and now) miminal promotional support FOX has given this movie. And it was always in a bad summer slot, coming the week after THE DARK KNIGHT.
But all of the above doesn't mean the actual movie won't be good. I just hope they haven't "dumbed" the characters down for non-fans. That's always my biggest concern for these types of TV-to-movie franchises.

We've got midnight showings in Tucson! Nothing cool like that happens here.
Anyone have an opinion on whether the midnight showings will be more or less crowded than, say, the 11 or 2 matinee showings on Friday?
