Think of it this way...some things are just aesthetically attractive/pretty/nice to look at...but that doesn't mean they are your particular taste.
It's like appreciating the fine lines of a sports car, but really being more of an SUV/Truck person.
Jolie is the perfect example for me, she is attractive, but I'm not particularly attracted to her.

Agree with Cate Blanchette. Does nothing for me. In fact, during the Lord of The Rings, when any character would say she was so beautiful, it made for some good unintentional comedy.

I'm not sure why Cate Blanchett has been mentioned. I've never heard anyone refer to her as "hot," and she doesn't make those lists from Maxim and the like. At best, she might come up in a thread about domestic hotness.
