The type of movie that I love to see to close out the summer!

DullandWitless 07-09-08 02:43 PM

Looks tasty.

chris_sc77 07-09-08 03:01 PM

This looks like a lot of fun.

Groucho 07-09-08 03:03 PM

This is always a red flag:

Quentin Tarantino presents...

I don't care who "presents" it, I think it looks pretty darn cool. I probably won't see it in the theater but it's definitely the kind of movie I like to pop in late at night.

I've never been a fan of David Carradine though, while Madsen and Hopper are genuinely bad ass, Carradine looks like he's trying waaaay too hard to be. (I think Kill Bill 2 suffered from this as well).

Seantn 07-09-08 04:54 PM

I think Madsen's schtick has grown pretty old.

Rogue588 07-09-08 07:53 PM

Eric Balfour? Really?

And, yeah, I haven't been too impressed with some of the other flicks QT's presented...

EdTheRipper 07-09-08 09:32 PM

Looks like it could be pretty good.

I'm not worried. It just says "presents" not "endless corny dialog written by and lots of shots of girls' feet directed by" Tarentino.

This looks better than any part of Grindhouse.

Larry Bishop! Alright! Wait a minute, Larry Who?

Joey Bishop's son. You might remember him as the owner of the strip club Budd worked at in Kill Bill Vol. 2.

sauce07 07-10-08 10:03 AM

fun.

Gunde 07-10-08 10:58 AM

Well it's been trashed in every review I've read, so yeah I'm gonna pass

Shannon Nutt 07-10-08 11:26 AM

Looks like good, mindless fun. I'm sure it will be a hit when it makes it to DVD, at the least.

islandclaws 07-10-08 11:46 AM

I had a buddy who saw it tell me it was the worst piece of shit he'd seen in a while. Honestly, I think it looks like it will be terrible. Most of the trailer looked like someone trying to make a bad "grindhouse" film. It also looks like it's shot terribly. Plus, as was said earlier, the "QT Presents" is becoming less of a seal of approval/sign of quality and more of a way to drag people into theaters (i.e the Hostel films).

Kinda like Planet Terror? ;) I actually dug Death Proof, though I don't suckle at the teet that is Tarantino.

I agree about Madsen too, he's yawn-inducing, but I'll still rent this one.

Matthew Chmiel 07-11-08 12:24 AM

Iron Monkey?
Hero?
Hostel?
The Protector?

Really? You're telling me those films, in their uncut form, suck?

[I can understand the hate on Hostel, but not the other three.]

chris_sc77 07-11-08 07:45 AM

^Also,
Chungking Express
Sonatine
Switchblade Sisters
Hostel: Part II

The man has lent his name to some good films.

Typical mindless violence, with over the top profanity and nudity. I am so there.

Oh yeah!

Anyone know if this is getting a limited/wide release or is this at best direct-to-video?

Zen Peckinpah 08-01-08 02:10 PM

Looks like the type of movie Beavis and Butt-head would watch and completely love the shit out of it.

In other words, I want to see this.

Seantn 08-01-08 03:01 PM

Doesn't at all interest me in the way that Grindhouse did. I'll pass.

Tarantino 08-01-08 03:25 PM

Looks like a lot of fun to me. And I want that poster.

= J

OldBoy 08-01-08 03:43 PM

was that it...52 sec? looks too violent and graphic for me.
