For me, the orginal JAWS is probably the scariest film I've ever seen. The quote that "the majority of shark attacks occur in three foot deep water or less" has always stuck with me. I will not go in the ocean ever again -- not even wading out a short distance -- because of this film. So as "horror" films go, JAWS is infinitely scarier to me than the three films proposed in this poll.
Nope. Whether it could happen on real life or not is the probably the last thing of importance for me.

Love 'The Exorcist', Like 'The Omen' was bored to fucking tears by 'Rosemary's Baby'

I'm sure Polanski loved it - he and Cassavetes bumped heads the entire shoot.

I voted The Exorcist....
The Omen,it's a close second....
I hated Rosemary's Baby, it's very over-rated....

The Exorcist is the scariest and best of the three in my opinion. The other two are good though.

I haven't seen The Omen but I thought Rosemary's Baby was fairly boring and I chuckled at most of the Exorcist.

I'll agree that an SE would have been nice for ExIII - and I do like the film. Just read Blatty's Legion (on which ExIII was based - it was a bit of a slog) and rewatched the movie. Kinda doesn't stand up to repeated viewings.
