The stuff through Brazil and the first Hulk-out at the college were great. After that, it got a little slow, then picked up when the action moved to New York. And the last scene was terrific.

Saw this yesterday and loved every minute of it. I'm one of the few who actually enjoyed the Ang Lee film but I feel this is the movie that one should have been. I eagerly anticipate a sequel.
On thing, though.
Also, I must move to Brazil and work in a Guarana plant in order to find that girl (Carmen was her name?).

Does anyone thinks that this Hulk will run with strong legs in the box office?
Given that it carries 2 shitload of expectations
1. Comparison to the 1st Ang Lee Hulk
2. Carrying Marvel's name after 1month difference from Iron Man in 2008 Summer releases...

Much, much better than Ang Lee's Hulk.
-No Hulk dogs? check
-No Nick Nolte? check
-No splitscreen shit? check
-No horrible finale? check
I did enjoy the first half more than the 2nd. Loved the tv show references as well. The finale was pretty good, but not my favorite scene. It was a long, blur of CGI for the most part. I enjoyed the Hulk vs Army scenes much more.
I just hope the BD contains Norton's cut.

I generally take opinions in threads like these over pro critic reviews anyhow. Where else are you going to get them than, oh yeah, a reviews thread.

I guess the key definer is "Discussion" vs "Reviews" in the thread topic.

I enjoyed it more than Ang Lee's. I just couldn't get past the crap storyline with his father in that one.
This certainly had it's problems but it was fun and I like that it had several "in" references to people that are more familiar with The Hulk comics. I had to look some up, i.e. what happens to the doctor's head, which I find to be a fun feature in comic movies. Did the comic have different size Hulks like Ang Lee's? I miss that. I didn't feel this one was large enough. They might as well have used a real actor. He wasn't all that big.
I have much love for Eric Bana but I didn't have a problem with Norton's Banner. I didn't get a sad desperation from him though which Bana had. Liv didn't bother me as long as I "forgot" that she's supposed to be a brilliant doctor. William Hurt, meh. The biggest problem in this movie was the final battle resolution. It just seemed like "we ran out of CGI money and we'll just make it stop right there even though it doesn't make sense". And the "days without incident" was annoying to me.
Overall a worthy comic movie.

I thought this was a good comic book movie but it is probably the worst of the modern "good" movies: behind X2, behind S-M 2, behind Iron Man, etc. So, for better or for worse, mediocre but enjoyable and entertaining.

I saw it today and while I liked the "new" direction this film took, it was still just ok and nothing particularly awesome. Frankly, I like BOTH HULK films because they both have their +'s and -'s. I'm sure this one will grow on me. Anyway, I loved the TV show references, with Lou F's cameo, TV them usage, and the Bill Bixby clip.
I also liked Tim Roth as a crazy ass soldier/Merc(?). Tony Stark Cameo
Again, as DC fan who doesn't really do Marvel I'm quite jealous of the recent Marvel movie cameos that seem to be building towards an Avengers film.
Get off your asses DC/Time Warner!!! We can't let the bitches at Marvel have all the cool fuckin' films!!!

Loved the flick compared to the 03 version. It was great. Loved the cameo's, story, everything about it.
That and Iron Man are my fav two movies of the year so far.

And I'll take The Incredible Hulk over ANY Superman movie to date, and over every Batman movie with the exception of Batman Begins.

If you look at some of the Hulk comics (or his appearances in other titles) from the 60's and 70's he is noticeably shorter than several other characters. Some of the artists liked to show him short and stocky for some reason. It was very inconsistent, though, and it shifted in the 70's and 80's to the taller Hulk. But he was never as big as portrayed in the movies.

I really enjoyed The Incredible Hulk. All the actors were great, though I think Tim Roth was miscast. I liked Liv Tyler a lot as Betty and she did well with the somewhat thin character development she had to work with. I like that the story moved along at a pretty brisk pace, but I felt the creation of The Abomination was rushed and I would have preferred him and Hulk to slug it out a bit more in their final fight instead of the kinda weak ending with the chains. But overall I was very satisfied. It's not as good as Iron Man, but it's MILES better than Ang Lee's Hulk.

However, the whole 'madder Hulk gets, stronger Hulk gets' premise means he can get bigger, dependent upon his disposition.
