BHC III actually wasn’t a bad premise. Bad guys running some nefarious counterfeiting ring out of a Disneyland-esque amusement park in California could actually make a pretty decent Beverly Hills Cop flick but Landis went way too cartoony and silly with it than it should have been. BHC always had humor the first two movies had a harder edge to them than part 3. BHC III played way too slapsticky for it own good.

John Ashton was also severely missed. Hector Elizondo was a weak replacement. Without Ashton, Judge Reinhold really didn’t have much to do or anyone really to play off of.

That’s a start. The original movie is one of my all time favorites. When possible, I even try to watch it in June every year due to it taking place then.

For me, part II was average at best, and III isn’t even worth discussing, so this will be more of a curiosity.

I don't know if it is to long ago and I was too young, but I liked part 3, although it wasn't that good. I actually think, I watched part 3 more often than part 2.

There was a period during the early 90s when my parents were taping movies off tv and keeping them. Part 3 was one of them. Because of that I probably saw it 10 times as a kid despite it kind of sucking. I only saw the original a few years ago surprisingly.

Considering this thread was first created 16 years ago, and considering that Eddie Murphy doesn’t make good movies anymore, I probably won’t even see this unless it gets Prey reviews and word of mouth. Maybe I’ll just see if I can dig up the taped off tv copy of part 3 and watch that instead.
