Movies that you hate [merged]

Re: Post movies you hate.
This is the obvious answer but to play along I'll name some notables that I hated so much they actually left me angry!
We Were Soldiers
Halloween II (R. Zombie)
The Haunting (1999)
I get really annoyed by contrarians who hate popular movies just because everyone else likes them. Which is where I assume this thread is going. "Hey you know that super popular movie with all the good reviews? Yeah, I hate that movie!"

Top of the list? Forrest Gump. Mood music for idiot Baby Boomers.
Normally I'd answer Magnolia, but aside from a small but dedicated fan base, that movie was never popular.

Re: Movies you hate that everyone around you loves
That's one case where the movies are popular because they're great movies, whereas Napoleon Dynamite and Hangover are only popular because people keep talking them to death. And if something is repeated enough times, there will be people that start to believe the hype, undeserved though it may be. If Napoleon Dynamite and Hangover stood on just the people that genuinely like the movies, they wouldn't be nearly as popular as they are now.

Off the top of my head (and reading a few others' posts):
FORREST GUMP
TRUE LIES
TITANIC
AVATAR
MAGNOLIA
AMERICAN BEAUTY
THE TERMINAL
SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE
UP
GRAVITY
INTERSTELLAR
I'm tempted to say anything by Wes Anderson--except for the fact that I have yet to see anything by Wes Anderson. Maybe I should keep it that way.
P.S. SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION

Hmm, I can't think of any offhand. There are many movies I deem terrible, but hate... oh wait, there was some piece of shit (can't remember the title) given to me as a bootleg by my brother-in-law's family, so I felt obligated to watch it even though I figured I would hate it. I didn't get beyond 15 or 20 minutes. Made within the last 5 years and a ripoff of those Twilight-type movies, with an insufferable couple of empty-headed young centerfolds in some vampire or werewolf story. 15 minutes in I was bored as fuck.

Memento was a pretty good flick and Prestige I think is good even though I liked the Illusionist more. Never seen Following but his take on Insomnia is a good cure for insomnia. I also liked Batman Begins and was so excited by the final scene with the reveal and like every one else waited for The Dark Knight. Then I saw it and felt like someone drowned my cat in front of me.

Better 2008 movie than Synecdoche, New York? Not even in the same freakin' galaxy...
