Is that the skyline of a particular city, or is it a generic "Gotham" skyline?

No, it's not the actual trailer. Awhile back ago, someone took footage from the 89 version that would mirror the structure of the DK trailer, and put it with the DK trailer's audio.

I know they filmed several scenes for the film in Hong Kong, and from what I saw/read the streets of Hong Kong are featured prominently. So I would assume so (as opposed to Hong Kong standing in for Gotham somehow).

I will say that when I saw the trailer for The Dark Knight involving the Joker walking down the street and Batman coming at him in a vehicle I thought, "Wow, 1989, much?"

Apparently at each of the trailer showings, there were raffle type drawings, and the winner would receive a reel of the trailer. The reel turned out being this "jokerized" version.

I love the bat droppings at the end of the trailer.
