Favorite vampire movie?

Inspired by the excellent vampire movie i saw last night in "30 Days of Night". i was so surprised that i enjoyed it so so much. Josh Hartnett and the rest were just excellent. it wasn't as cliched as many are and it was pretty original. just loved the look and feel and it was just really good.

my first fav are zombie movies, but right next to it are vampire movies. i just love the lore and the coolness that many possess. i like "Blade" and "Blade II" and "Interview with a Vampire" is one of my favorites. "Shadow of the Vampire" is real creepy.
but, there are so many that i am using this to recall.

so what are some other really good vampire movies?

House of Dark Shadows
Vampire Lovers
Twins of Evil
Lust for a Vampire
Both House That Dripped Blood and Dr. Terror's House of Horrors have cool vampire segments.

Not only one of the best vampire movies of all time, but undoubtedly one of the best films of all time, as well.

John Carpenter's Vampires - I like this one because it doesn't try to romanticize the vampires--they are evil, murderous monsters. And James Woods is a badass.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the movie) --it's great campy fun and it's a lot better than fans of the tv series give it credit for.

Dracula 2000 - this one is cheesy and melodramatic but it has an interesting take on the whole vampire mythology. Plus it has a great cast including Gerard Bulter (of 300) as Dracula, as well as Christopher Plummer, Jonny Lee Miller, Jeri Ryan, and Jennifer Esposito.

Vampire Hunter D - a Japanese production that is among my favorite animated movies.

So...we're just naming them all then?

My favorite is Interview with a Vampire. Best modern update, good lore, great performances. All around a great flick.

I like the Blade trilogy as action flicks, but the vampire aspect is purely to provide enemies for him to take out.

30 Days of Night was excellent, I think its the scariest Vampire flick ever

Other ones I love are

Blade Trilogy (Mainly Blade 2)
Lost Boys
Dracula 2000 (not great but I liked it)
Near Dark
From Dusk Till Dawn

'Near Dark'... really cool stuff...

'Dracula'... with Frank Langella and Sir Laurence Olivier

'The Hunger'... it stands up... such a cool approach...

'Salem's Lot'... the first film that made vampires scary besides Nosferatu...

'Phantom Der Nacht'...

Nosferatu, both the Murnau and the Herzog/Kinski.

Also, "The Wurdalak" segment from Bava's Black Sabbath.

Ones that immediately come to mind for me:

Bram Stoker's Dracula...I liked the many faces of Dracula
Underworld series...I specifically liked the concept of The Elders, the Old and New World Vampire Covens, and Marcus being the original Vampire.
Blade series...I liked how the Vampire world is an organized thing with an Illuminati type group with many different Vampire houses running things.

(1) From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter - Hated the first two, but was strongly urged by a friend to see this. Best vampire film of all time.

(2) Horror of Dracula - A great reinterpretation of the legend, with the best final five minutes of any film I can think of.

(3) Count Yorga: Vampire - I just love it.

Any vampire movie that keeps the cross in the movie which has been in vampire movies since the 1930's. No cross means they are trying to push an agenda on me. And that turns me off. No New Rules in Vampire Movies!!

Another vote for Interview with the Vampire. I always loved the ending.

Oh, and lets not forget The Lost Boys.

Man, if the movie were half as good as the poster, it would've been the greatest film ever!

Alien zombies. Hmmm....
