More "Rambo" and "Rocky" movies on the way...

http://news.aol.com/entertainment/mo...00010000000001

NEW YORK (Feb. 4) - When it comes to Sylvester Stallone's career, there ain't nothin' over till it's over.

The 61-year-old box office champ has inked a lucrative deal to direct and star in two action films with "Rambo" producers Danny Dimbort, Avi Lerner and Trevor Short of Nu Image/Millennium Films.

Several scripts are being considered for follow-ups to his surprise hit sequels to "First Blood" and "Rocky." With Nu Image/Millennium's new Writers Guild of America interim deal speeding up the process, the first script is expected to be ready by the fall, with production set to begin shortly thereafter.

"The past year and a half of working with Avi, his partners Danny and Trevor and his film family has been nothing but a high point for me and my career and an extremely rewarding experience," Stallone said. "Avi is a real gentleman and a man of his word."

Stallone will produce the films with Kevin King-Templeton and Lerner. Dimbort, Short and Boaz Davidson will serve as executive producers.

It's a deal few would have expected just a few years ago, when Stallone followed up his role in "Spy Kids 3D: Game Over" with a failed network boxing reality TV series, "The Contender." But in 2006, Stallone wrote, directed and starred in "Rocky Balboa," the sixth "Rocky" film, 16 years after the previous sequel in the franchise. The MGM release grossed $70 million on an estimated $24 million budget.

The second part of Stallone's one-two punch came with the current release "Rambo," which he also stars in, wrote and directed. The film, distributed by Lionsgate, made $18.2 million in its opening weekend and earned an estimated $25 million in its first 10 days of release.
Huh? "Rambo" is not a surprise, but "Rocky"? I thought he said "goodbye" to the Rocky character.

I'm pretty sure that he said he is done with Rocky. Lionsgate made a deal with him that if Rambo did well he would have a deal for two more movies. One being another Rambo film and the other being his POE biopic project.

I think this is just poorly worded. The "follow-ups" aren't necessarily going to be Rocky or Rambo sequels.

Yeah, this is just a deal to do two more movies. Not necessarily Rambo or Rocky sequels.

Stallone had stated He is done with Rocky, Rocky Balboa was meant to end the franchise.

Coincidentally I just finished watching Rocky Balboa about 20 minutes ago. I couldn't imagine a sequel to it. It was a marvelous film and a perfect ending to the Rocky character.

Stallone also just said that, despite Harvey Weinstein's claims, he is done with Rambo, too. I'm ok with that. Rambo kicked major unholy ass, but it was also a fitting end to that series.

I'll take a sequel to Demolition Man please. Maybe they can refreeze Stallone's character and have the sequel set 250 years in the future, only they can write in that something went wrong with the cryogenics and he aged another 12-15 years while he was dormant! Maybe they can even get Snipes again. Say he had a twin brother who was in prison for tax evasion and who just busted out.

As mentioned, this was just poorly-worded

"Several scripts are being considered for follow-ups to his surprise hit sequels to "First Blood" and "Rocky." "

=

Several scripts are being considered for movies to come next after his most recent films

The just answer what were those recent films? answer: "his surprise hit sequels to "First Blood" and "Rocky." "

Based on his recent work, this movie would probably be called Lincoln Hawk or just Hawk.

Hey, a sequel to Judge Dredd simply called Dredd. That sounds kinda cool.

Among Stallone's "non-hit" movies, this one was my favorite.
