My idea for a sequel to Aliens...

Aliens is one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies and I was disappointed with the 3 and 4. I always thought it would be great to make a sequel of the 2nd one (Aliens) from where that story ends and that could be cut in between 3 and 4 to branch off, still allowing 3 and 4 to work. So here's my suggestion from an idea I've had since I first saw Aliens in the theater, and more so when I saw Aliens 3.

At the end when Ripley comes out on the platform, and Bishop is gone with the ship, then Bishop appears with the ship. Next scene is Ripley looking at Hicks who's in stasis and Bishop saying not to bother him... this, I think was really meant to imply that Bishop was really programmed to also save the crew, but also bring back an Alien for the company. So while Bishop is away, he's gotten a face sucker to plant an egg in Hicks. This would change Bishops character to actually a good (protagonist) and bad (antagonist) guy also, but only for this sequel. They could explain that a Company ship intercepts their aircraft and removes the one from Hicks (that would happen to be a Queen egg, so there could be many of them in the battle), killing him (this would explain why he was dead by his stasis bed malfunctioned in #3 when they find the ship) and then lets the ship float in space thinking that if it was found nobody would know any different. And since the series never took place on Earth, the final sequel should finally arrive with Aliens on Earth (and not this AvP crap). They could have it be like the movie Aliens, but on Earth, with the whole military base with hi-tech weapons against a bunch of Aliens the Company working for the government has bread inside a lab in the military base...

Wouldn't have to have Ripley or anyone from the series (except maybe Bishop), and could focus on a Sci-Fi action like Aliens (but as I've stated, on Earth).

The next time you watch Aliens, you can see for yourself how this would work.

no, nope? As in you don't think it's a good idea. Or no, nope as it won't work because you've seen them and it won't fit in the story? Then you should watch Aliens and Alien 3 again...

Strange that both actresses that played Newt in Aliens and Alien 3, never acted in any other role ever again.

Lol! I need to watch an A L l E N film again. Hehehehehe.

No, we just don't need Rambo vs xeno's on Earth. Rambo vs xeno's was pulled off as great as it ever will be in Aliens. A great sequel needs much more than a change of location with "high tech weapons" to work.

The first 2 films will never be topped by any sequels made for this series. I will also admit that I quite like A3. The series should have ended with A3 and Ripley's sacrifice. AR, AVP, and AVPR are quite worthless in my opinion.

I fantasize about an ALIEN 3 where Ripley, Newt, and Hicks all survived.

I like it. I'm one of those that doesn't really connect the first movie to any of the others. As far as I'm really concerned it ended there. Aliens/3/4 was to Alien what AvP was to the resultant trilogy.

From five stars to 3.5 to 2.5. Yes. That does mean I liked 3 and 4 just as much as Aliens. different feels-equal quality. (Flame on!)

Alien is just the style I'm into. I ain't slammin' you liking Aliens.

I think that may be the first time I have seen AR compared to Aliens quality wise. I agree with you that A L l E N is in a world of its own though.

How do you not connect the first and second movie? Aliens is all about Ripley facing her fear. Just because Alien was a slow horror/sci-fi/thriller, doesn't mean the action/ass kicking in Aliens doesn't fit. It was a great change of pace to further the story. Alien3 was Fincher's attempt to rekindle the feel of Alien. But I would have rather had the series go to the Alien homeworld, after Ripley, Hicks and Newt arrive back on earth, the space marines prepare a full assault on the homeworld. Of course, the company would back the operation, only to try and capture a Queen. I would keep everything off Earth.

A guy who hangs out at the comic book store I go to thinks a "silent" Aliens vs. Predator flick could work in the right hands..

Holy shit that was the shittiest shit I've ever read.

Shit man, that was total shit. I'd rather watch endless hours of AVP and AVPR instead of watching something like that.

Then again, I was really pumped when I saw the teaser for Alien 3 and it seemed like they were going to bring the fight to Earth.

and then it ended up something totally different. Still, it had a certain thing to it that I enjoyed.

Bad Idea

I have always wondered about the Ship on LV427
from the first alien movie
When Ripley nuked the colony the ship is supposedly pretty far away so it should still be there with more eggs

I'll buy the Aliens sequel, if you buy my idea for a Titanic sequel, in which we learn that Jack didn't die on his way to the bottom of the ocean. He was taken in by a race of water-breathing creatures in an underwater civilization at the bottom of an abyss, and taken back to the surface, where he secretly lived as sort of a guardian angel for Rose, making sure she lived her life to the fullest.

Wow, we sure have a lot of critical Industry people posting on this forum...

I bet this teaser was made when Vincent Ward was set to direct Alien 3 and they were going to use his Wooden Planetoid script, before Fincher took over and made it a prison planet.

Sorry, I can't buy an Abysmal Titanic sequel...

Well in "3" there isn't much acting involved when you are a corpse.

As for Carrie Henn, you hit the top on your first gig...where else is there to go?

They are similar in that they are terrible, for different reasons. It pains me to have 2 and 4 on the shelf, but the box looks empty without them.

I think that Alien, Aliens, and Alien3 is a masterpiece trilogy. I really think they all are amazing and every other movie was never needed. I hate it when these companys are just pushing out sequels without anything to say. And yes I think it took balls for Fincher and crew to start their third of the story with everyone already dead. And I think it is essential to the overall story.

And one other thing, why do some many people just want Aliens to be repeated. That movie was all action, and people just want that same brand of action to be in another Alien movie. I don't want to see the same movie again, and if they just change the setting it will still be the same thing. Alien was never centered around action and I think that the second one is more action packed because the story needs it to be. The second movie in a trilogy always has to up the stakes and make it terrible for the characters. That's what Aliens did, it showed the audience exactly what was at stake with this alien.

You know what happens when you wish for "Aliens" to be repeated? You get "Alien Resurrection".

I'd say something bad about "Alien 3" here, but I just don't care about it anymore.

Yep...ALIEN 4 could have been a HUGE hit if it began with Ripley waking up from a dream (that dream would have been Alien 3). It would even have fit into the storyline, since her last line of ALIENS is "We can all dream now".

Beginning of ALIEN 4 would have had Ripley and Newt waking up from their hibernation.

NEWT: Did you dream, Ripley?

RIPLEY: Did I ever!

Onto the much-anticipated, but never realized Aliens on Earth sequel.

Yes, it's the "Bobby Ewing" solution, but it would have saved this now-destroyed franchise.

Since the Company's intent was to exploit the aliens for profit, Alien 3 should definitely have been the aliens on Earth -- preferably with Ripley and Newt around to fight the good fight. Or, at the very least, to reveal the evil corporate machinations. That's why I think CLOVERFIELD (alien havoc in NYC!) is about as close as we'll get for now ... at least until a new fannish generation of filmmakers get their hands on it.

As has been said before:

Alien 3: Aliens on Earth
Alien 4: Alien Homeworld. Where we find out the true origin of the aliens and why there were a bunch of eggs on that crashed ship.
