Recent Sean Young odd behavior

Thought this was interesting since she has had a higher profile lately with the renewed Blade Runner interest. Thought all of this was behind her and that she seemed rather normal in the BR interviews.

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Sean Young has entered rehabilitation for alcohol abuse following a weekend outburst in which she was heckling from the audience at the Directors Guild of America awards.

Sean Young has entered a rehab facility for treatment of alcoholism, her PR agency said.

The 48-year-old actress was escorted from the ballroom at the Hyatt Regency in Century City Saturday night after sparring with Julian Schnabel, who was nominated for "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly."

"Actress Sean Young voluntarily admitted herself yesterday to a rehabilitation center for treatment related to alcoholism," a statement from Insignia PR said Tuesday. "It is understood that Young has struggled against the disease for many years."

At the DGAs, all of the film nominees get a chance to say a few words before the top prize is announced. Schnabel, in his trademark yellow-tinted glasses, was a bit slow to start, looking down at the podium and running his hands through his wild, curly hair.

That's when Young could be heard throughout the room urging him to get on with it. Apparently rattled, Schnabel scanned the room and asked who said that, then spotted Young and suggested that she "have another cocktail."

Then he suggested that she should finish his speech for him and started walking off the stage. Music began playing for his exit, but the audience urged him to stay and keep speaking, and he did. Young, meanwhile, was removed from the ballroom.

A call seeking comment from the Directors Guild was not immediately returned.

Joel and Ethan Coen were the winners for "No Country for Old Men."

Young made her name in the 1980s with films like "Stripes," "Blade Runner" and "No Way Out." But she's become more famous for some of her more bizarre behavior, including dressing up in a homemade cat suit in her quest to secure the role of Catwoman in the 1992 sequel "Batman Returns," which went to Michelle Pfeiffer.

She also tried to crash the Vanity Fair Oscar party in 2006.

"It was degrading," she said in an Entertainment Weekly article last year. "But when you have nothing to lose, it's really not that big of a deal." E-mail to a friend

A more important point of discussion: Who the hell invited Sean Young to the DGA awards?

Maybe unlike the 2006 Oscar parties she was able to sneak her way in? Nothing worse than a completely irrelevant celeb making an ass of themselves to remind people why they're not relevant in the first place.

Anyone got a vid yet?

I remember something about James Woods having to get a restraining order so she would stay the fuck away from him(as he would put it). Saw him on some talk show talking about what a total nut case she was.

In that EW article she tried to downplay all the incidents and (as she puts it) allegations, but clearly if she keeps doing crap like this...

"It's too bad she won't live! But then again, who does?"

Really bizarre stuff, and she did look pretty composed during the Blade Runner junkets. But I guess things aren't always as they seem.

I bet she's wild in the sack. And isn't that really all that's important?

Depends on whether "wild" means "biting off your nuts while hopped up on Wild Turkey", in which case I would say no.

Really? I thought she was a bit too much with that big fluffy scarf around her neck. It looked more alive and scary than her.

Didn't she do something crazy to try to get the role as Catwoman in the Batman movie?

from IMDB
"Actress Sean Young has checked into a rehab facility in California just days after she was forcibly removed from the Directors Guild Of America Awards for her unruly behavior. The Blade Runner star was escorted from Saturday's event after heckling The Diving Bell and the Butterfly filmmaker Julian Schnabel as he attempted to make a speech from the stage. Reports suggested Young was inebriated at the ceremony. According to her publicist, Young, 48, checked into "an undisclosed" rehabilitation center on Monday in a bid to tackle alcohol issues. The representative says, "It is understood that Young has struggled against the disease for many years."

That's what I was going to say. The best part is they interviewed her for the DVDs and she seemed kind of like she wanted to be affable and joke about it but deep down you could tell it still kind of bothered her that she wasn't Catwoman so she came off just ever so slightly insane.

Drudge report has a video up. I'd post a link, but it's blocked from my work.

I understand she's a has-been (how did she get an invite?) and a nutjob, but I wouldn't recognize Julian Schnabel with his wild, curly hair and trademark yellow-tinted glasses if I ran him over with my car. And I've never heard of "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" before this article.

But I'd recognize Sean Young quick enough to get out of her way.

She's been doing blow daily since the late 70's. Of course she's odd. And the fact that her Nasal Membrane is still in one piece blows my mind.

That's the same video on Drudge Report mentioned earlier. I wanna see her getting hauled off by the goons.
