LOL.

I like the look of the movie. I mean I just spent the last 9 hours devoted to writing a paper on the byronic hero so that's really added to its appeal.

My biggest complaint however.....is why is it, in the majority of his action titles, Will Smith must continually save humanity? He saves us from Aliens, robots, zombie/ vampire things, martin lawrence: At this point I would just assume someone would be throwing in subliminal messages that he's jesus. I don't think he drop a bigger bomb on us after that.

Maybe I've just gotten tired of his films.

Thank you! I like Will Smith, but I haven't seen a single trailer impressive enough to make me want him in the theatres in a long time. The last movie I saw was I, Robot. A friend whose opinion I respect warned me against I Am Legend. Lately, his action movies lately seem to have a generic or cookie-cutter feel to them.

Without going into his entire filmography, this seems like a re-tread of Mystery Men with bigger special effects. He mentioned in his 60 Minutes interview that he and his manager analyzed the top 10 grossing movies of all time and patterned his choices after that, but I think he's becoming very formulaic. (While I didn't recognize it initially, earlier posts also mentioned a similarity to Bad Santa.)

The only thing that I found remotely compelling about this film is Jason Bateman being in it, but even then I will likely pass on it.

I wonder if they'll leave the
Spoiler:
super sperm scene in which Hancock is having sex with a groupie when he has to throw her off as he shoots a load thru the roof
in the film.

They had an extended ad for this the other day on television (during American Idol, maybe)? It pretty much showed the entire plot of the film. No need to see it now!

OK, second trailer won me over. If I feel like seeing a stupid movie, I'll check this out, as long as it doesn't have any atrocious reviews.

Barings: The first third of I Am Legend is some of the most nerve-wracking film I've ever seen come from such a blockbuster movie.

Spoiler:
Charlize Theron. If you slo-mo the scene of him falling you can see her in a black jumpsuit like outfit fighting him

First, the public never took the Mystery Men seriously in their ability to "save the city" while the citizens in Hancock seem to annoyed by him when he does a heroic act. Second, Hancock seems to be evolving Captain Amazing (Greg Kinnear) when public relations whiz played by Jason Bateman gets a hold of him.

Looks good. It'll be a nice warm-up to the epic Dark Knight.

I'm not quite getting the marketing to the film. The first trailer made this seem like a spoof, now the newer ads and trailer seem to make it appear to be more serious in tone. Did they re-edit this film due to poor buzz or something?
