Title of Muppet Movie??
What's the name of the muppet movie where a bunch of animals travel on the road as musicians? They get to some haunted house and they all get spooked by each other. Is it available on DVD?

Okay. I am remembering more. They didn't spook each other. They spooked their owners who were mistreating them. They were traveling on a road and they made stops at houses and each one had an owner that was a bad man. There gang got bigger and bigger as they made each stop. I think each one played a musical instrument. In the end the animals end up scaring the owners away b/c they think they are ghosts for some reason or another. I think the owners stole money or something like that.

I love that movie, unfortunately there isn't a good DVD release of it out there. I guess it has something to do with the owners of the rights to the movie not owning the rights to Kermit, so his skits are edited out.

Why would that be the case if Jim Henson made it? IMDB lists Jim Henson Productions on it, and even had a VHS release in '83 from Muppet Home Video. Not to mention Frank Oz and Henson himself as the performers.

Actually I think I was confusing this with Emmet Otters Jugband Christmas. I don't think this one has any DVD release for some reason. (maybe because of the Kermit content, like in Jugband?) The Jugband dvd had the Kermit parts edited out.
I'd love to see a good version of these two and the Muppet Family Christmas.

It's like making Johnny Appleseed someone who had a phobia of apples but then is rescued by a space cat.

In this one-hour musical special, Kermit the Frog narrates the story of the Muppet Musicians of Bremen. In a departure from the source material (the folk tale "The Musicians of Bremen"), the action takes place not in Germany but in the Louisiana countryside.
Leroy (a donkey), T.R. (a rooster), Rover Joe (a hound dog) and Catgut (a cat) escape the clutches of their cruel human owners and set out in search of a better life. They find musical instruments -- which they learn to play remarkably quickly -- then form a band and go on the road, playing their own distinctive brand of Louisiana Bayou jazz.
While their owners -- a gang of robbers named Mordecai Sledge, Farmer Lardpork, Mean Floyd and Caleb Siles -- are hiding out in a cabin in the Bayou to divide their loot, the fugitive animals mistake the cabin for lodgings where they can play their music in exchange for room and board. The superstitious gang members are spooked out of their lair by the sound of mysterious music on a night with a full moon.
