Not that it matters anymore, but I'm pretty sure that is from The Prestige.

Another hour, another shot:

The movie is from the 1950s (since Brack posted something from the 1940s, I thought I should go a bit more "modern").

These are the two top billed stars, although their faces are a bit obscured.

this really is the "easy edition" if the wrong answer is considered correct. It reminds me of a game of musical chairs where there is the same number of chairs as there is people.

No, it's the SD 50th Anniversary edition. There's been lots of discussion on other boards (maybe this one too, but I haven't seen it) about the color of this edition, mainly that it's too yellow, but it looks acceptable to me. If you check DVDBeaver here the HD and BD versions seem to tone down the yellow a bit. The new SD is quite different from the previous SD edition, but most feel that edition was too red. The HD seems to split the difference, more or less.

I believe this is the first Warner's release to use their Ultra-Resolution process on a movie that was not originally filmed in three strip Technicolor - the original negative had faded beyond recovery, and the movie had to be re-composited and restored from the separation masters. Reportedly they spent $600k doing this, and aside from the color controversy, all the reviews seem to be very positive for picture quality.
