Eli Roth's Trailer Trash

MGM is releasing this for an August 2008 release. Eli Roth will make a film called "Trailer Trash", which will expand upon his "Thanksgiving" trailer from Grindhouse, and will include many other fake movie trailers as well.

Eli Roth writes into Bloody-Disgusting:

"...that's the date (August 22, 2008)! TRAILER TRASH was inspired by the two days we filmed "Thanksgiving," which was the most fun I've ever had filming anything.

Trailer Trash is not a horror film, it's a comedy. It will be very R-rated and completely insane, and I'm producing it with Mike Fleiss (who I did both "Hostel" films with), and writing it with my friends Jeff Rendell (my "Thanksgiving" co-writer, who also played The Pilgrim), Noah Belson (my co-creator on "The Rotten Fruit,") and my brother Gabe, who's collaborated with me on everything I've ever done.

I want to make a film like "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," which I consider to be the greatest achievement in the history of cinema. The best part is I get to shoot some new THANKSGIVING scenes, as well as other holiday slasher films I've always dreamed of making but never would because they'd completely ruin me. I can't wait to shoot!"

I like Eli Roth... And I love Monty Python and the Holy Grail... But to that statement.

Sorry, nothing to add about this project, I just thought that was a bit much.

So is this a full length movie, another Grindhouse type film (movie + fake trailers), or is it just a bunch of fake trailers?

An Eli Roth horror take on Kentucky Fried Movie could be cool (or could suck bad).

Oh boy, a me-too Grindhouse movie from Eli Roth, how exciting. This movie will make Ben-Hur look like an epic.

Trailer Trash was being discussed way before Grindhouse was released.

Sounds like an interesting concept. I'll be impresseed if he can pull it off like he describes. I liked Grindhouse so I'm willing to give something like this a shot.

Eli Roth is hit or miss, more miss than hit but when I’m not confusing him with one of the worst directors of all-time, Uwe Boll, he’s not horrible.

His idea actually sound very interesting & I’ll definitely check it out on DVD (don’t go to theaters anymore).

Well, hopefully when it bombs at the boxoffice also, it'll prevent anyone else from making any more of these movies that they were thinking about doing way before Grindhouse was released.

I would lump horror into the same category as remakes and sequels. All are made for a quick buck.

I doubt this one will cost $65MM.

Pretty fitting title for an Eli Roth film.

Eli Roth is hit or miss
Eli Roth just misses, like Rob Zombie. Two men who shouldn't be allowed behind a camera.

Thanksgiving was by far my favorite Grindhouse trailer (even as much as I quote Machete), and I ain't a fan of Eli Roth. This just might be an ingenious little movie.

Spoiler:
No matter how many times it's reused, the scene where the guy in the turkey costume gets decapitated in the middle of the parade still might end up being the funniest part of the trailer if this one is longer. Couldn't stop laughing at that one.

Re: Eli Roth's Trailer Trash

Eli Roth produced a movie called "Clown" too.

The trailer is in the link.
