I was going to mention HEROIC TRIO (and it's sequel) too, but they fight Anthony Wong, so I guess it doesn't count. Like that film, looking to Hong Kong is your best bet for seeing films with ass kicking females (eg. YES MADAM)

PACMAN, that's exactly what I meant. It would be gimmicky of course, but I don't think it has every been done with a big cast (I think in THE DESCENT it was only about 6 actors in the film?)

The Descent was an exception to the girls mixed with guys formula because it was a small cast and a low budget flick. I'd be very cool if there was an action pic with lots of girls and maybe only one guy in it, but I think the studios would probably feel that it wouldn't be too successful. There's still a lot of sexism out there regarding action movies, u know.
For example, I know quite a few people that didn't go see Kill Bill because they saw it as a chick action flick, nevermind that the director of Pulp Fiction made it. Also, if the female characters are not overtly sexual in a conventional way, that also gives a problem for some viewers.
