Yeah, no offense to Cameron but if I have to wear something to appreciate what I see...it's not cool. I still don't understand wtf the appeal is. I've yet to see a 3D film, but I don't see how it'll affect my experience in a great manner. Maybe it's just a gimmick for kids but...this one doesn't seem like a film to take kids too. Well...maybe not too much.

That was a tired argument in 1997 and it's a tired argument now. While everyone knew the Titanic would sink, the fate of the fictional characters was not known.
And following your logic, Hollywood might as well not bother making any movie about historic events --- no war movies, no biblical epics, no biopics of significant historic figures.

PS--There is a funny comparison shot up today on comingsoon.net from the BRITISH Empire Magazine. Call me crazy but I don't see much of a difference in Sam Worthington and Sigourney's "Avatar's" if that is the correct usage.

The key word is "considering." They're enjoying 15 minutes- but threatening legal action is overplaying their hand.
And the 'similarities' people see are overrated. I dare ANYONE to show me a movie that doesn't recall visuals or plotlines form something else that was written or produced in the last 50 years.

Also, it is just me, or is anyone else getting a Lucas Black vibe from Sam Worthington? I feel like they could interchange the two actors in this film and no one would know the difference.

First thing I thought of when I saw there was an Avatar movie coming out was the cartoon my son used to watch...Avatar: The Last Airbender. But this is a completely different movie. Incidentally the cartoon is being turned into a Live Action movie set for release next summer simply called "The Last Airbender".
