Well...maybe not too much.
Maybe you should reserve judgment until you give one a try. Find a good theater (preferably IMAX) and sit in the sweet spot. Considering how many 3D movies are on the way, it's something you really need to check out sooner or later.

The producers of Delgo have some nerve. Instead of enjoying the free publicity, they are going to sue Cameron for ripping them off?! I noticed many ripped-off ideas in that trailer. Most notably The Dark Crystal (2:20) and Raiders of the Lost Ark (2:40).

Re: James Cameron's Avatar - news, rumors, castings..

If anything, there's a higher probability that the makers of Delgo ripped off Avatar

The Avatar Scriptment has been around since the mid 90s, before Delgo was ever even thought of

I just think its a funny, ironic thing. I love movies about historic events. Not looking for a pissing match....

PS--There is a funny comparison shot up today on comingsoon.net from the BRITISH Empire Magazine. Call me crazy but I don't see much of a difference in Sam Worthington and Sigourney's "Avatar's" if that is the correct usage.

This is awesome. Delgo forever.

The sad thing is that it took 10 years to create Delgo.

The script may have existed for ten years but the visuals are probably what is in question and there is no telling how long they have existed.

The visuals were described in the scriptment

I can't believe people would even believe this.

I somehow even doubt Cameron knows wtf Delgo even is.

Am I the only one who thinks Zoe Saldana's Avatar is hot? It feels vaguely wrong.

The key word is "considering." They're enjoying 15 minutes- but threatening legal action is overplaying their hand.
And the 'similarities' people see are overrated. I dare ANYONE to show me a movie that doesn't recall visuals or plotlines form something else that was written or produced in the last 50 years.

Nine as in title only. 'Nine's a musical that share's no similarity to '9' or 'District 9'

Don't forget (naming-wise):

District 9 / District B13
28 Days / 28 Days Later

And content-wise:

Deep Impact / Armageddon

Also, it is just me, or is anyone else getting a Lucas Black vibe from Sam Worthington? I feel like they could interchange the two actors in this film and no one would know the difference.

Wasn't the main complaint about Delgo the blatant rips of Star Wars and other fantasy-based movies? Even the DVDTalk review says as much.

I thought they were all the same movie. Are you telling me that NINE is not about singing/dancing female aliens in a post-apocalyptic South Africa? That's what the trailer made it look like.

Re: James Cameron's Avatar - news, rumors, castings..

First thing I thought of when I saw there was an Avatar movie coming out was the cartoon my son used to watch...Avatar: The Last Airbender. But this is a completely different movie. Incidentally the cartoon is being turned into a Live Action movie set for release next summer simply called "The Last Airbender".
