Harry Potter 5. Next to no marketing??

Hard to belive the 5th movie is this Wednesday. At least in my area, I haven's seen hardly any ads for it. The last theatrical trailer I saw was months ago. I may have seen 2-4 TV spots. Why aren't they promoting this? I'm seeing more promotion of Book 7 then Movie 5. I think the only reason I rememeber it is coming out this Wednesday is becuase I saw the date on the movie poster when I saw Transformers.

Is it being promoted in other areas?

I haven't seen much, but then again I usually don't see much promotion. Still, Harry Potter really doesn't need any. The fans, which are numerous, know when it comes out and everyone else can find out from them or just see it playing when they go to the theaters.

I've seen several commercials for it, but yeah like Jericho said, it probably doesn't really need that much promotion. You've already got the book being hyped out the wazoo at moment.

A theater here in the OC sold out two midnight showings about two weeks ago, an IMAX and a regular theater. The theater since added six more showings and a 3:15 IMAX showing.

Yeah, but thing now is, with the film series 2 behind the books, will people still go and see the films if they already have read the 7th book? (I confess I havent finished Book 5 yet).
I agree its a guranteed money-maker whatever though.

I thought the book was out next week or something but I'm not sure.
Well OK maybe Book 7 was a bad example, but loads of people must have read Book 6 by now.

The 7th book does come out the week after the 5th film is released, on July 21st.
