Your Favorite John Goodman Films

John Goodman has been lucky enough to have a succcessful TV career AND an amazing run in film.

I've loved him ever since he starred as lovelorn marryin'-man, Louis Fyne in the Talking Heads film, True Stories.

He followed that up with a great performance in Raising Arizona as the opportunistic fugitive, Gale Snoats.

Oh Brother Where art Thou? is another standout.

His Genius is in full ripeness as bowler & loose-cannon Walter Sobchak in The Big Lebowski...

Can't say I'm a big Goodman fan, he must be in a lot of stuff I've never seen, b/c I sure wouldn't say he has "an amazing run in film". Never seen any of his TV work (unless you count Futurama), but film wise the only movies he's in that I can think of, that I dig are. . .

Lebowski

Revenge of the Nerds

Barton Fink

Another vote for C.H.U.D. Dang, if I hadn't packed the DVDs in preparation for moving this week, I'd pop it in.

He (and fellow New Orleans resident Jay Thomas) really makes one hell of an impression for only being credited as "Cops in Diner" in a cameo role! That's some major fuckin' screen presence right there!

Matinee (Very underrated!)

Everything he has ever done. He is just an amazing actor all around, and I will watch literally anything with him in it. This is why I still need to see Evan Almighty.

Now that I know that, I have to include that with O Brother, Where Art Thou? as my two favorite Goodman roles.

I think it's underrated as well. The fact that it has Peter O'Toole in it, makes it even better.

Other good movies he's been IMO:

Raising Arizona
King Ralph
The Big Lebowski
O Brother Where Art Thou
The Emperor's New Groove
Monsters Inc.
Cars

I love John Goodman & think he is one hell of a good actor. Roseanne is one of my favorite shows & he was truly (next the the sexy Sarah Chalke) the best actor on the show hands-down.
But were talkin' movies so & althrough I haven't seen alot of JG films, the ones I have seen were terriffic.

O Brother Where Art Thou
Monsters Inc.

& I know I live under a rock but now that I know the amazing Peter O'Toole is in King Ralph I think I'll go look for the movie on DVD when I go get my new releases on tuesday.
