Selleck IS Magnum. Period. Nobody else can come close. When everyone knows you as a certain character it's just not possible to have someone else step in and do the job right, typically. Magnum worked for what it was, when it was. A film version now would only cheapen it.

I'm sad they don't want to do a Magnum film with Selleck as the lead. Having him as a mere cameo is a waste.

Any word as to why they don't just use Tom Clancy's treatment, rehire the series cast, and make a movie that actually concludes the series?
