Crap reviews? Still want to see it?
Have you ever seen a movie get pretty much unanimously bad reviews but still want to see it? What movie was it?
I really want to see The Condemned for some reason. Even after hearing how bad it is.

Pretty much every movie I see gets a bad review. I never trust them, cause most critics and myself do not have the same taste

My views converge with critics pretty often these days, generally if it's above like 50% at rottentomatoes, it's worth watching.
The biggest exception being some arthouse flicks (you have to be into the topic) and a few bigger movies, like Pirates 2, which was atrocious.
Current movies/scores:
Disturbia: 67%
Fracture: 70%
Blades of Glory: 70%
Vacancy: 54%
Meet the Robinsons: 65%
Hot Fuzz: 89%
Are We Done Yet?: 9%
In the Land of Women: 46%
Perfect Stranger: 10%
Wild Hogs: 17%
300: 61%
The Reaping: 8%
Grindhouse: 82%
Shooter: 49%
Redline: 0%
The Hoax: 87%
Firehouse Dog: 31%
TMNT: 32%
Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theatres: 48%
The Namesake: 85%
Premonition: 8%
Night at the Museum: 44%
Lives of Others: 95%
Ghost Rider: 28%
Of those, I've seen Blades of Glory, Hot Fuzz, 300, and Grindhouse and enjoyed em all, so it's 4/4 right now :P. Of course, they usually count 2.5 star ratings at negative, and that generally means "dumb but entertaining" in my book. But alas, if I'm super interested in a movie, I'm going to see it regardless of what anyone says.

I have my own criteria when it comes to seeing movies in theaters and DVD blind buys. For the most part I'm happy with my choices.

Eh, it depends but I typically dont really care what the reviews say... However, if there is a movie I dont want to see and my wife does, I will use the old, "but it got such bad reviews" excuse (even if it didnt).

It's way more common for a good review to entice me to come off the fence or even see something I wasn't planning to than for a bad review to keep me away.
I'll see a movie like Premonition just because the premise looks somewhat unique. That said, it'll be a rental, not something to pay $6 + concessions for.

If a trailer looks interesting to me, I'll see the movie. I have seen movies that weren't great, but I've never seen a movie that I absolutely hated in the theater. I know what I like and I don't see things that don't look appealing to me.
Point being, I don't really care what reviewers say. They are far more critical of entertainment than I'll ever be.

I will listen to critics when it comes to things like indie dramas or Oscar-bait type movies. Because if some two and a half hour prestige film isn't even good enough for critics who love that sort of thing, chances are I'll REALLY hate it.
But if it's something like a low budget horror movie or dumb comedy, I might ignore the critics because I already know they'll hate a lot of things like that.

If it's something near and dear to my heart for a major part of my life and getting the big screen treatment I won't listen to anyone.
This got me burned once (Judge Dredd).

If it's a movie I really want to see, and the metacritic rating is yellow or better (40% or 50% or better IIRC), I'm in. That included 300 and eventually the DVD of the Aquateen movie. If it's a movie I only am vaguely interested it needs to be in the green to bother with.
I can't think of a movie I've watched lately with a red (sub 40% rating).
Ignoring or not bothering to read reviews leads to you watching Battlefield Earth in the theater. Not a good idea. Trust me.

That movie didn't need critics. It telegraphed the bad.
