....yeah, we saw the same trailer too.

Re: Total Recall

flying cars, storm trooper-looking robot cops
The flying cars were real and shot practically(except for digital comp), the robotic cops were also shot with stuntmen in suits, then digital wires in the joints were added later. Pretty funny when people mistake real for CG.

Re: Total Recall

The artwork from Cronenberg's version looks like Star Wars.

Re: Total Recall

Why do futuristic sci fi movies today look EXACTLY like they did 10 years ago? And why do they all look like they belong in the same fictional reality? There's been no progress in the interim and there's no place to go? Or is homogenous futuristic settings a price we pay for our pumped 100s of millions dollar budgeted/wall-to-wall-with-CGI sci fi movie?

Re: Total Recall

Maybe they see what worked visually in films like Blade Runner, Total Recall, and Minority Report and hope that because of that the film will be embraced better.

Re: Total Recall

Translation: CGI crapfest!
LOL! I've pretty much owned this argument already. Like I said, it's hilarious when you claim something is CG when it's actually real. My suggestion is not to make statements on subjects you're ignorant about.

As for this film, I hope it's good and I look forward to. Unlike most of you, I don't have any emotional attachment to the original, so I won't blindly shit on this film out of some misplaced loyalty to the original or Arnold Schwarzenegger. I also won't claim it's great if it sucks.

Maybe they see what worked visually in films like Blade Runner, Total Recall, and Minority Report and hope that because of that the film will be embraced better.
Are you serious with this BS? As for the original Total Recall, it didn't work visually. It was cheap looking even back then, and is incredibly dated today. It doesn't belong in the same breath with Blade Runner or Minority Report, both far superior films visually and creatively.

Re: Total Recall

I wasn't opposed to this film, as I don't hold the original in any high regard. But the same scenes, dialogue, shots...etc is a real turnoff. If I were making it I'd go out of my way to not include any of those things.

Re: Total Recall

Okay, I'm not totally against this. I do appreciate good sci-fi action flicks.

I know we're on page ten. But I haven't kep up. I can say that I'm opposed to not having a trip to Mars. A colonized Mars was a really cool part of the first. But I do like Cranston. Can I assume that he's taking over the Ironside role?

if you look at the framing for the trailer, they are purposely cutting her boobs out. she'll definitely be topless.

Re: Total Recall

Did anyone laugh for some reason at the part where his "wife" is hugging him real hard and they run through the window?
