Very misleading, I thought it was about some primitive monster-man or something.
|
Whether the trailer lied or not, it still looked like a crappy movie.
|
I'll agree that its very misleading. Though, I'd much rather see a crocodile eating people movie than a serial killer one. As it stands now, I'll wait for Primeval to hit Sci-Fi channel.
|
I started seeing some new ads tonight that expose the fact that the "serial killer" is not human, and I saw a couple of really quick shots of some bigass crocodile jaws. So maybe this was a plan as a phased roll out of ads that slowly gave more information away. Or maybe they realized that people weren't quite getting the idea of the movie at all.

Come on now. This isn't misleading at all! :D
Synopsis: In one of the most remote places on earth, a bloodthirsty serial killer has claimed over 300 victims, and is still at large to this day. Now, inspired by the true story of the world's most prolific killer, comes PRIMEVAL, a nail-biting horror-thriller that follows an American news crew determined to capture this terrifying murderer alive. |
Unless the movie is NOT going to have deafeningly loud sountrack crashes to indicate when we should be scared, then its not misleading
|
This sucks! I wanted to go to a movie over the weekend that wasn't too overhyped, and I had decided to see this since I thought that it was a serial killer movie, but I don't want to see a freakin' crocodile movie.
|
The reason the ads are misleading is because of all of that junk about mass graves. No way a croc is digging mass graves.
|
Ummm... lets just say that there's a good reason they had to mislead you about this "movie." Holy crap was that awful. And not "so awful you need to see how bad" just something you should never allow to waste nearly 2 hours of your life. The dialogue was atrocious, the acting was horrendous, the "story" was hilariously awful, but it was all topped by the sub-SciFi level CGI. I'm going to spoiler the most unintentionally hilarious scene I've seen in a while.
Spoiler:

Hope you didn't have to pay to see it.
|
Just saw it today. All that running on Prison Break must have helped Dominic Purcell in this flick. I'm surprised that Disney financed what was essentially a B horror flick. Also, I was surprised the ads didn't even mention that Purcell was in this flick. Yeah, the dialogue and acting was bad. It will be on DVD by March or April.
It was mildly entertaining. I'd give it a C+ |

THANK YOU!!! For a minute there I thought I was the only one who was somehow able to see the 2 or 3 frame shots of the crocodile. But is this really a new spot? I could swear it's the same one I've been seeing all along. Maybe not. To be honest I haven't exactly been riveted to the screeh when this trailer comes on. |

The NY Times critic started off his review bitching about the fact that he had to waste $10.50 of the newspaper's money to see this, since there were no critic screenings. After reading his review, I suspect not many readers will be wasting their money. |

Not what you would want in a rampaging croc movie. |

How can you not know it's a crocodile movie? That's like being surprised that SSSSSSS is a snake movie. |

The only one that gets played here, about twice in any given commercial break, shows the croc briefly and says, "he isn't human".
Either way, a movie called Primeval and set in Africa is either going to be about lions, or crocs. |
Look, get over it. There was different ads.. most did not show a crocodile at any point.
From Reuters: "Disney's "Primeval," a thriller with Dominic Purcell and Orlando Jones as part of a news crew pursuing a prolific serial killer, premiered at No. 8 with $6 million." Would you assume.. a crocodile? |
No way is it misleading. All the trailers show a crocodile |
