I need some help. For some years now, my father has been ranting about a movie. After all of those years, I need to find out the name of it. It's really starting to get to me, lol. He has said that Sean Penn was in it (although it could have been Chris Penn, he's not sure). He only remembers one scene:

Sounds like a scene from The Professional/Leon.

I believe Payback had a scene with Mel Gibson patching himself up in shower and later killing those whom responsible.

I think I remember Gary Busey doing that in some movie, then putting the bullet in a jar with a lot of others.

I think that was Bulletproof with Gary Busey but I don't think that's the movie the OP is looking for.

No. I just watched Payback the other night. Porter didn't patch himself up, and there was no shower scene that I recall.

I think the movie has to be At Close Range.
