I dont wanna sound bias here but i dont really agree on Kung Fu Hustle being part of this list, and Karate Kid is borderline for me, especially if you are in the company of Enter the Dragon, Hero and The Drunken Master. Karate Kid and Kung-Fu Hustle are great movies in their own right, but not in the same league. And I would liked to have seen both One Upon A Time in China and the all-time classic Master of The Flying Guilatine (I went through the first 10 clips and did not see it).

They're not comparing movies, they're comparing scenes. In that way, it's less ridiculous to put Karate Kid in with other, better movies.

Perhaps, but it is still one of the most recognizable lines from a movie, and has been referenced in many other movies and on many TV shows.

As a list of scenes it is okay. There were plenty of better scenes from Ong Bak they could have used. Also, the final fight of Young Master is one of the best martial arts moments ever committed to film. I'd also have gone with something from the warehouse fight in Drunken Master 2 rather the that from DM1. Never saw the Crippled Masters before.

And every time I see that scene from Fist of Legend I see Jet Lee as Kato from Green Hornet. There's a film I'd love to see.

Yeah, as long as it's just "scenes" then I guess I'm all right with it. Good call on Fearless. That was my favorite fight of the movie.

A 16-minute fight is just a lil' too long for me though. The perfect "long" fight for me involving Jackie is his battle with Benny The Jet in Wheels on Meals.

On the other hand, I don’t think Karate Kid needed to be there. When it comes to martial arts us Americans definitely don’t kick ass.

Another 'Karate Kid' complaint

Wow...it's been a while since I saw Jackie Chan's Drunken Master or Jet Li's Fist of Legend. But seeing these ones again just really proves how incredibly skilled they were and how much they deserve all the respect presented to them.

The Karate Kid is no comparison to Enter the Dragon, not by a longshot. The late Bruce Lee is a legend in martial arts, and there is no one in the world today that can emulate him, and never will be.

I'm not sure if The Karate Kid belongs among those movies, but The Karate Kid Part III is a completely different story. That movie rulez!!!

Young Master = my favorite "old school" JC flick
Wheels on Meals = my favorite all-time JC flick

I was going to say that they should have had The Young Master too. Definitely a great movie. I think that Maxim went a little too commercial, I mean, I loved Kung Fu Hustle, but they coulda stuck to the "serious" martial arts movies.

the karate kid will be remembered for years because its much more than a kungfu flick, it reached out to different audiences something like Rocky I.
not many mainstream fans can tell you anything much about Enter the Dragon(great flick) but they have great memories of Mr. Miyagi(the real star of the karate kid movies).
