Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back question...

The scene in question is the one with Jay, Silent Bob, and the Jason Lee character (before Jay & Silent Bob take off for Hollywood). Jay says, Cue the music..., and Jay and Jason do this strange routine that really is more odd than funny to me.

Does it mean anything? If I knew the meaning, maybe I'd "get it" and then laugh when I see it.

If I recall correctly it's just something Lee and Mewes used to do with each other while filming previous films.

Inside joke that got put into the movie.

Actually It's in one of the Train Wrecks that covers IIRC. I know I haven't looked at any of the eggs yet.

thematahara got it, but it was also in Mallrats. Just something Jay and Brody do because Jason and Jason started it off screen.

That scene has always bothered me because I initially thought they were supposed to be imitating the theme music from "Chasing Amy". My wife has the same opinion. So either they are a) not doing that or b) doing it so poorly that it is unrecognizable has always stuck out to me.

Seems strange to throw in something NO ONE would get on first viewing.

I always thought they were mimicking the theme song from Chasing Amy too.

It sounds nothing like the theme from Chasing Amy. I always assumed they were just playing around. I've done stupid stuff with my friends like that.
