Okay - tomorrow is my wife's birthday and we're leaving work early to catch an afternoon matinee. We have discussed the two movies we both would like to see most: Borate or the Departed.

Obviously two extremes.....

I chose Borat, but you can't go wrong either way. If it makes a difference time-wise, The Departed is about an hour longer than Borat.

Most of the women I know didn't like borat - although they didn't particularly like the departed either but at least there was a love story element to that.

If I had to choose one to watch first, I would most certainly choose Oscar contender The Departed. Nicholson, DiCaprio, Damon, Scorsese. Yep...The Departed.

My fiance hated The Departed, but loved Borat. I loved both, but would go with Borat for a matinee.

If it makes any difference, The Departed will have you leaving the theater feeling depressed, while Borat will cause you to leave with a big smile on your face...so it depends on what kind of mood you're in...or want to be in.

Make it a double feature.

Seriously though, you should see both of these at some point. They're that good.

But if you have to pick one, I'd go with The Departed. Best film of the year, so far. Borat was the funniest, but The Departed was the best.

I agree that both are great, but I went with Borat. I don't think there's been another movie that we have both laughed equally hard throughout.

Borat...or skip movie and stay home for sexy time.

Send your wife to The Departed and you can go see Borat. You can use the other hour to either do some shopping or grab a couple beers

Other -- THE PRESTIGE

the departed, i like. go to the matinee and then the evening showing and see both. departed will probably be out of theatres first, but go to both at some point.

and the prestige is a good one too as filmmaker mentioned.

Depends, if you want to drag out the afternoon, do the Departed, if you want to rush back for a sexy time, see Borat!
