Almost Famous 2?
I was looking for a copy of the bootleg version of 'Almost Famous' and upon searching through wherehouse.com came across this: http://www.wherehouse.com/movies/pro...jsp?id=2656399
It says 'Almost Famous 2', due to be released 12/5/06. Please tell me this is a re-release of the original and not a direct-to-DVD sequel, because a sequal would just rerun the what the original tried to accomplish (and this coming for a person that loves sequels - even the crappy ones)...

Wow this would be a bad idea. I also like crappy sequels (looking forward to WarGames 2) but the first one is just such a complete story. Plus I don't see them being able to get anyone from the original cast except maybe the star but from pictures I've seen he is looking pretty fugly.

Maybe it'll be about the movie business instead of the music business, this time starring Judd Nelson, C. Thomas Howell, Kirk Cameron, Mario Lopez, Stephen Dorff and Jan-Michael Vincent.

Cameron Crowe's Last Ditch Effort To Make a Good Film After The Trainwrecks Known As Vanilla Sky and Elizabethtown?
And I would like to let everyone know, I loved everything Crowe has done until those two movies.

Vanilla Sky is a piece of shit that appeals to the lowest common denominator. The ending in which everything is explained out is just terrible. Great way at destroying any mystery the prior 100 minutes of the film developed.
And in addition, Elizabethtown is just a trainwreck.

Couldn't find a thread for the movie. While Almost Famous 2 never happened, Rolling Stone did just publish William Miller's "think piece" on Stillwater.

Almost Famous 2 might never have been a thing but Cameron Crowe made Roadies for Showtime, a one season show about the ahem, roadies of a touring rock band. I really enjoyed it. It starred Luke Wilson and Carla Gugino. It's worth checking out.

Re: Almost Famous 2?
I posted it this morning in the Cameron Crowe thread and it quickly got lost in a Cameron discussion. But yeah it's an amazingly well written piece. Kind of the holy grail for Almost Famous fans. I was sure it was going to be included in some re-release of the movie but it never came, until today.

Re: Almost Famous 2?
My one and only issue is that the real William Miller would never mention in the article that he had never been to a party before. William is very interested in blending in and seeming older and more mature than he actually was. There's no way he would put in an admission like that and if he did Rolling Stone would have removed it.
