This was the first one that popped into my mind too.

Casino...

"Listen to me you Jew motherfucker!" becomes... "Listen to me you Jew money lover!"

My eternal favorite

"Son of a Bitch" in BTTF became "Son of a Butthead".

calhoun07 06-29-08 01:29 AM

My all time favorite is in the Bravo showing of Blue Velvet. Dennis Hopper announced he would FREAK anything that moves!

domino harvey 06-29-08 02:13 AM

I still remember seeing this one from when I was a kid and Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead came on Fox:

"We're in some deep SLUDGE here."

I heard them change it to "I'm gonna get that slug in a ditch."

Also, in Ghostbusters, "I'm gonna sue your ass for wrongful prosecution" becomes "I'm gonna sue your funny face" thanks to the Disney channel.

There was a great one for True Lies, I believe, but I can't remember it.

White men cant jump

Rosie perez after the jeopardy scene and woody harelson(spelling)comes in and sings to her she says

original version:"Lets Screw"

Edited version, with a completely different voice and slowness: "Lets make love"

This thread would actually make a great book. That would take some impressive research to find all the great "edited for tv" lines from movies playing on tv...

I have an idea for a website...

Nesbit 06-30-08 06:29 PM

I remembered seeing them overdub the use of "Ass" with "Kazoo" near the end of the Great Outdoors. The best part about it was they had one voice clip of "Kazoo" and used it for 5 or 6 actors in a row.

Did they hire Billy West doing his best "Ren" impression for those dubs?

"Yippy-ka-yay...YOU FAT, BLOATED EEEDIOT!"

I saw a TV version of Back to the Future where Biff simply says, "I'm gonna get that BITCH."

Huh? So he can't say "Son of a..." but bitch is perfectly fine??

there's a thing in the tv version of pulp fiction where the 'does he look like a bitch' is perfectly fine, but 'tell that bitch to chill' is not ok

runnersdialzero 07-01-08 09:26 AM

Kill Bill:

"My name is Buck and I like to...party."

the pulp fiction tv version, some of the edits are actually decent, but some are just plain bad.

She's told me about the "Yippie-kay-ya, Mr. Falcon." edit, but here's two more (might not be word for word, but I'll do my best):

The Big Lebowski: OR line: "Fuckin' rug" Edited version: "Valued rug"

In the Line of Fire: OR line: "You better show me some fucking respect!" Edition version: "You better show me some sincere respect!"

Boba Fett 07-03-08 02:30 AM

IONs recent showing of Dirty Harry was funny, not because they redubbed lines, but because they used audio drops.

The best was during the infamous list of races Harry "hates".

There were about 15-20 seconds of just background noise and lips moving, before things picked up again.

Rypro 525 07-11-08 02:05 AM

flipped the Usual Suspects on AMC, and it happened to be during the intarogation scene. "give me the key, you fucking cock sucker" became "give me the keye, you fairy godmother" Made me laugh for a good 5 minutes.

whaaat 07-12-08 02:39 AM

The Exorcist: "Your mother sews socks in hell!"

RKillgore 07-12-08 04:53 AM

Darkman, where he has a seizure at a carnival, breaks the fingers of a carny worker, snatches a toy stuffed elephant and thrusts it into Frances McDormand's hands:

"Take the fuzzy elephant!"

my favorite was from Silence of the lambs.
