The Guardian (Costner/Kutcher)

I saw a screening of The Guardian last night. Kevin Costner did a good job as a legendary Coast Guard rescue swimmer and Ashton Kutcher did a (surprisingly) good job as a cocky swim champ. The movie clocks in at 130 minutes, but did not feel overlong. Despite the standard plot formula it follows, it works. Perhaps due to the taut direction of Andrew Davis (The Fugitive) who hasn't had a solid hit since, well...The Fugitive. I give it a rating of 3 stars/B.

Thanks for the review! This movie looks interesting enough. I'm slowly warming up to it.
