9. Fill the father role with an Academy Award-nominated actor. Then there will always be at least one talented actor in the film.
he forgot, preferrably a British actor

Some of those responses are classic!
"If you want to watch a movie about thwentysomethings then I suggest you get yourself ‘Requiem for a dream’. Now that’s a movie. It has all the harsh realities of life. Not particularly about a twentysomething guy but still. It kicks Garden State’s ass."

Pretty funny, but it seems a bit early to be criticizing him. I'm guessing you could do the same type of comparison for any actor whose first 2 films were of the same genre and somewhat alike stylistically.

i agree, but I bet you can do this with most actors/actress though.

Well, I'm not even gonna bother reading that. I'm a huge Garden State fan and I know The Last Kiss looks identical to it but Zach Braff is just in it, didn't write or direct it. So whatever.

Interesting. Now someone needs to do something like that for a Cameron Crowe movie.

Doesn't work as well for Vanilla Sky.

After seeing The Last Kiss today, his "How to make a Zach Braff movie" didnt work well, Both movies were very differnt. The only thing that made them seem more similar was the trailer. But the actual movie felt and was alot differnt I thought. Only thing that was the same was that both movies were very good.
