Michael Medved gets several things wrong in his review, not just Gloria's married status and Mambo's gayness. He probably needs a hearing aid and even thicker glasses. He says the elders worship a God called "the Great Wind". Actually it's "the Great Guin" (meaning "penguin", of course).-ohbfrank- Although, "The Great Wind" would be a good name for Michael Medved.

I'm kind of surprised that the video release no where mentions this just won best animated film of last year - you'd think Warner Bros. would make more of that fact.

There was a small, red sticker on the slipcover of my review copy noting the Oscar win. I'm not sure if it's on any others...fortunately for my bank account, I haven't been out shopping this week.

I love rotoscoping...especially in Linklater movies. I think it's something he really benefits from, and makes great use of. The screening of A Scanner Darkly that I attended received all sorts of applause and buzz. I was surprised to see the movie come and go with a whimper. I suppose there just aren't as many of us as I had assumed.

Watched this one last night - what a dissapointment. It was a chore to get thru, with a fun factor of about 0. Didn't like the designs, style, live-action, storytelling...

Things I liked - the Seal attack, some of the diving, jumping sequences, the hispanic group w/ Robin Williams... and that was about it.

I really was fully expecting to like this one too... all well. Hope Surf's Up is better.
