I enjoyed the hell out of it. Not as good as Iron Man, but Marvel is on a roll. They need to develop this universe more. I would pay 10 bucks to see a Planet Hulk movie.

wow. i hope the sequel is sooner rather than later. I know marvel wants iron man 2, Cap, Thor, and Avengers made but this film was on par with Iron Man and the throwdown between hulk and abomination was classic marvel comics. the acting was superb, norton and liv had great believable chemistry. Hurt blew sam elliots' Ross out of the water. the story and performances carried this movie until the action sequences began. couldn't say that with ang lee's hulk. I wasn't looking at my watch to see when norton becomes Hulk. Only if marvel studios were able to get back the X-Men franchise.

Re: Norton and Tyler's chemistry. I just said the same thing to a friend. They were great together.

I thought the movie was good but it was pointless
Spoiler:

The movie ends the same way it started: Bruce Banner still doesn't know what to do with his powers and none of the characters changed throughout the movie. Thunberbolt somewhat changed but it seems like he still wants to capture the Hulk.

Besides the outcome, I enjoyed the movie. Norton did a better job than Bana as Bruce Banner. Liv Tyler was great when she wasn't speaking but as soon as she spoke, it reeked of bad acting. Especially the taxi scene. That was terrible. Roth was pretty good for what he had to work with. I'm sure some of his scenes were edited out but viewers understood where his character was coming from.

Enjoyed this, but I also didn't hate the Ang Lee movie either. I think this more what people wanted from a hulk flick. I hope for dvd we do the get the edward norton cut too.

Spoiler:
The ending seemed like a pretty clear indication that Bruce was in fact learning how to control the Hulk, as evidenced by the smirk on his face when his eyes turned green and the fact that he seemed to be turning when he was meditating, certainly not anything to get his heart rate up over. Also, it showed he was capable of, as he said near the end, at least aiming his rage, which makes him a candidate for the Avengers.

Got it. My first take was that he still couldn't control it but I guess I read it wrong.

Spoiler:
Dr. Samuel Sterns appears in the 2008 film, The Incredible Hulk, where he is portrayed by Tim Blake Nelson. In this film, Sterns already starts off as a genius professor. He is shown trying to help Bruce Banner throughout the film through encrypted e-mails and online chat under the alias as "Mr. Blue", but has been gamma testing animals and possibly people for believing he could make humans immune to all diseases using a sample of Banner's gamma-enhanced blood. Emil Blonsky coerces Sterns to give him an injection of the Banner-enhanced serum causing Blonsky to mutate into the "Abomination." During the transformation, Sterns is knocked across the room and some of the serum drips into a cut on his head. Sterns' head begins to pulsate and a grin appears on his face. Nelson is signed on to reprise the role in a future film, where he would become the Leader

Saw this last week and actually liked it quite a bit. However, the effects were atrocious. Everytime CG was on the screen it was instantly noticeable and distracting. The effects from Lee's film 5 years ago was far better than this. You'd think in 5 years the effects would improve, and they have throughout film in general. But this wasn't even close to Ang's film in that regard. Aside from that, it would get a solid thumbs up from me.

I was cool with the effects. I do kinda wish though that they mesh a CGI shot with a practical effect shot of the hulk you know? Like Iron Man did every once in a while. Too much CGI sometimes...

I"m pretty sure...it's going to be like in the comics where the gov't contains him. And considering we have The Leader coming forward, I'm sure he'll use Blonsky.

I concur. I just finished it - better than I anticipated, but the CGI was definitely sub-par.

I think you need to rewatch Lee's hulk. The effects in that film were wretched. Far worse than The new hulk. At least the new Hulk had a consistant height, realistic muscle movement and a lot of detail in the skin. Lee's hulk was fluorescent green with no texture, horrible movement and awful facial expressions. Just watch that scene where he gets hosed down with foam. THat's the worst CG I've seen in a long time.

Absolutely! I just re-watched Lee's "Hulk" on Blu-Ray a week before the new "Hulk" came out on DVD, and even more stunned how bad the film was on every level. ESPECIALLY the special effects. And feel Norton's version was amazing.

I would think that if ILM had continued doing the effects work, but Rhythm & Hues was the vfx lead house in the latest movie.
