Looks pretty cool. :)

I thought it was a new one...

Or at least one that didn't zoom in on a Daniel Craig without a decades worth of lost sleep around his eyes..

Oh, wait...that's how he usually looks...

Legolas 06-12-06 10:31 PM

Same trailer, just in glorious Quicktime.

You know, for someone a bit younger than Pierce Brosnan, Craig sure looks a lot older than him.

Dash 06-12-06 10:33 PM

well Bond is a party animal he never gets sleep. I guess its almost time for my 2 week James Bond marathon, I cant wait!

Seantn 06-12-06 10:43 PM

Just out of curiousity...why do people always refer to Quicktime as "Glorious Quicktime"? I've viewed crystal clear feeds from Windows Media Player as well. Quicktime looks nice, but what's so glorious about it.

Well they're either being sarcastic, or they're insane.

Movie looks cool... new Bond does not (especially since they're supposed to be going the "younger" route)

The cinematography in this one looks VERY cool. The black and white shots remind me of Sin City a bit.

Somehow as I watched this trailer I just realized how perfect a James Bond Julian McMahon would have made (Sean Connery furry chest and all  )

I've never been much of a Bond fan, but I do agree that McMahon would have been a good choice.

I'm looking forward to this movie.

Doesn't work :brickwl:

jiggawhat 09-07-06 06:40 PM

I didn't even realize that Paul Haggis wrote this movie.

Geofferson 09-07-06 08:18 PM

Even more pumped for it now.

Doughboy 09-07-06 09:10 PM

Looks good. The movie, not Daniel Craig.;)

I noticed a brief glimpse of Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter at the poker table.

Pretty good trailer. Cant wait. Ques were those lyrics sung by the choir to the James Bond theme towards the end of the trailer? Couldnt make what they were saying, IF they were saying anything or just makin noise.

poirot 09-07-06 11:01 PM

I was looking forward to this trailer all day, but I have to admit, it just didn't do anything for me. Maybe I was expecting them to have found a clever way to introduce Craig, the way they did with Brosnan back in `95.

And though I've been open-minded up until now, Craig took me out of the trailer everytime he appeared or spoke. He may be good for people that don't really like James Bond movies, but he just doesn't work for me.

It will be interesting to see how well this film goes over with the mainstream public. Most people have a pretty strong idea of what James Bond should be, and it's not the character from the books.

I actually had the same reaction. I didn't really let myself get into if he is a good Bond or not but he was kind of a glaring figure in the trailer. It will just take some time getting used to I guess.

Tarantino 09-08-06 01:20 AM

Looks GREAT!

Kal-El 09-08-06 01:30 AM

Movie looks ok, but still not sold on Craig as Bond so I'll probably still pass on this.

wm lopez 09-08-06 02:32 AM

What strongly believe is the Bond producers saw those Matt Damon spy movies which were excelllent and wanted to go that route. Which is make Bond look like a Matt Damon type, since the critics & public loved those movies.

JesseCuster 09-08-06 03:11 AM

You know what, I would give my eyeteeth for an actor, a real f*cking actor, to play James Bond. We had it in the young, potent Sean Connery. Lazenby was an ok replacement for a film. Moore was a capable actor who came in as the series began to jump the shark. He had his for sure moments. Dalton was an actor's actor who came in as the series became a pop culture event and he managed to be part of a truy excellent Bond retro film in License to Kill. Brosnan, IMHO, is the actor that truly got screwed. He's certainly as capable as the top flight Moore and he got saddled with some utter shite, storytelling-wise. Bad films that focused on special-effects and put any character development and story way in the back seat. Sad. IMHO, we have a real f*cking actor again in Dan Craig. I'm very, *very* excited about his performance in the new Bond film. Real acting coupled with a realization from the filmmakers that a great actor demands a commitment from the filmmakers to show his performance and build a film from the ground up, story and character-wise. Unlike Dalton and Brosnan, he's gotten lucky. I hope.

Supermallet 09-08-06 03:43 AM

I cannot stand Daniel Craig. I won't be seeing this or any other Craig as Bond film. Someone mentioned Julian McMahon, who would probably be the perfect James Bond.

As for Brosnan, it's a shame to see him go, as he was easily my favorite Bond after Connery. In many ways, he was even more archetypal Bond than Connery was. But as Jesse pointed out, other than Goldeneye, the films he starred in wasted his talent and everyone else's. It's a damn shame.

lukewarmwater 09-08-06 04:17 AM

Am I the only one who's seen layer cake? I think craig is great for bond. I think him being bond is the best part of the "new take". If it was R it would be even better.

The guy who is jumping off roofs is what bothers me. That wasn't in the book.

There's a <a href="http://movies.aol.com/casino-royale-james-bond/exclusive-video-features/trailer-premiere" target="casinoroyaleqttrailer">quicktime version here</a>.
