Well there Normy, its a little known fact that Beyond the Valley of the Dolls was originally entitled "Revenge of the Valley of the Dolls" by George Lucas. But then he decided that the valley itself could not actually take revenge, but still could shoot first, which was beyond comprehension . . . and thus the title that we know it by today.

(PS -- I hereby declare that all statements in this thread must 1.) Start with some derivation of "It's a little known fact there Normy." and 2.) Must be factually inaccurate, but connected through Cliff Claven logic.)

I'm sure this story is going to be on the commentary, but Roger Ebert was on Stern a year or so ago and related a story of how he and a friend went to visit Russ Meyer in his nursing home. By that time Russ's Alzheimer's Disease had progressed and he no longer knew his old friend Roger or even his own family. At that point a nurse came in for a few minutes and left. Russ looked at Roger and said disappointedly, "No tits." The man loved breasts on that deep a level.

Where did you hear that story?

Did you read the RM bio that has that?

A good read BTW.

The ending with that story and the info on the mean woman that took over his estate and doesn't even like his films is sad. Amazing that people take advantage of people like that. Maybe if he had some kids that cared about his legacy(well there's one-sorta) this might not have happened.

John Waters conducted some great interviews with Russ Meyers, a few of which are contained in his autobiography.
