I seriously wonder how they're going to explain the symbiote. A lab experiment gone wrong, perhaps?

Didn't they cut out the whole "Peter creating the webslinger" to make it more "realistic"?

Seems like that would be stretching the reality of the films to me. I mean, the comic fans wouldn't mind, but I think Joe 6-Pack would go, "What? Now he's fightin' space aliens? What the hell is this shit??"

Wouldn't this black suit be somewhat of a spoiler for those who don't want to know the plot of the next film?

If you don't know what the black suit signifies, the only thing it spoils is that for at least one scene there is a black costume.

they'll say the same if it's another "OMG, Horrible science experiment gone wrong!" bullshit that has happened in the previous two already.

Needless to say.. It came from outer space.

They could just use the same explanation as the early 90s cartoon show.

They will probably use the Venom origin from the Ultimate Spider-man comics. In the Ultimate series, the black suit was a scientific experiment created by Parker's and Brock's dads. It had nothing to do with a space alien.

The "space" thing is easy to explain. John Jameson was in Spidey 2 and he was supposed to be an astronaut. They can say he went into space and the symbiote came back with him.

Wow, this is going to be beyond horrible. I mean, they don't even try to hide those wires.

Which is pretty much what happened in the Spider-Man cartoon.

Sweet!! I'm really digging Peter's San Francisco swoop. Finally, the bad poetry writing, wrist slashing, whiny pussy spidey we've been waiting for. Way to nail it to a time period, guys.

Is it me, or does he look like he just turned a trick in the men's room and is looking for a place to spit?
