Spoiler:
The ending of the book is somewhat similar to the events of 9/11. Also the main charachter wasn't a budybuilder he was just an average joe.

Dancing with Wolves are pretty much same as novel book - but scene order is little bit different.

Then Casino is runner-up.

Rosemary's Baby. Polanski said he didn't realize at the time he was ALLOWED to change the book.

2001 was written concurrently with the film.

I liked the chapter that just repeated "Crazy lights and shit" for 20 pages.

Nineteen Eighty Four was spot on. Missing only a few lines of dialogue from O'Brien at the end.

Reading A Scanner Darkly for the third time and hoping and praying and crossing my fingers and throwing chicken bones...

(I've seen about 25 minutes of it, though, and that was spot on. )

The entire movie is pretty faithful.

Here's another vote for ROSEMARY'S BABY. That film should be a guideline for doing an adaptation of a novel. Nearly every detail, even down to Rosemary's Vidal Sassoon haircut, made it into the film.

You're kidding right? This was a horrible re-telling of the book.

A Clockwork Orange and Sin City were basically word for word.

1984 was my answer as well. Faithful right down to incidental sounds made by people walking.
