does anyone here actually want to see "Over the Hedge"?

i saw the main trailer with Mission impossible 3, and this movie could actually be really cute and funny at the same time. Also, just by reading the cast list, def. makes me want to see how it is (bruce willis, steve carell, William Shatner, Thomas Hayden Church.

Boondock Saint 05-07-06 04:38 PM

Yeah I think it looks pretty funny.

Rogue588 05-07-06 04:40 PM

Yep. I'll be there.

What do I win?

Mr. Cinema 05-07-06 04:42 PM

no. I saw the trailer for the first time before M:I 3 and didn't think it looked funny at all.

Goldberg74 05-07-06 04:48 PM

My kids really want to see it... so I'll wait until DVD. ;)

Supermallet 05-07-06 05:02 PM

Nope. I haven't wanted to see any Dreamworks CG film since the first Shrek. The only good CG film they ever did was Antz.

Jackskeleton 05-07-06 05:20 PM

I don't think we are the target audience regardless. Sure there's celeberity voices. But those are mainly there to keep the parents pleased as a kids story is being shown.

However, I am interested in seeing Over The Hedge. Looks like it can be cute and funny without having to be hit over the head with decade old pop culture references like Shrek, Shrek 2, or Shark Tale.

Our local paper ran the comic strip for about 2 weeks, as they try to test out new strips (to the paper) and I didn't really care for it.

But, when I saw the trailer, I thought the animation looked great, and it looked funny. So, I'll probably check this out at some point, not sure if I'll see in the the theater, but I'll pick up the DVD when it hits $10.

clemente 05-07-06 06:29 PM

The animation looks great and the voice cast is great, so I'll be checking it out.

Artman 05-07-06 06:33 PM

Not having seen any of the animal-themed animated films of the past yr, this one did catch my interest just on visual style and characters. Not seeing it in theaters tho.

maingon 05-07-06 06:44 PM

i think it looks very funny cant wait

EdTheRipper 05-07-06 10:34 PM

I'll wait for video.

FiveO 05-07-06 10:40 PM

Saw this preview tonight at MI-3. Looks pretty funny.

Not sure if I'll catch it in the theatre....but its a definite rental for me when it comes out.

BigDan 05-07-06 11:03 PM

Now that my kids are teenagers, I can't use them as an excuse to go to movies like this, so I'll probably wait until video (and then only rent while wearing an overcoat, fedora and sunglasses).

RichC2 05-08-06 12:09 AM

God bless the fedora, making anything you do cool... since the early 1900s.

I think the movie looks entertaining, probably won't see it in theaters but will see it somewhere down the line. I saw a making of on HBO and was amazed at just how many names they got into it, heh.

DonnachaOne 05-08-06 12:15 AM

I do.

outer-edge 05-08-06 12:52 AM

I did, but the more I see, the less I want to. Some of the characters look like they will get on my nerves too quick, and I am afraid it won't be as witty and fun as I first thought.

Joe Molotov 05-08-06 01:15 AM

No. I've pretty much seen all the hilarious CGI talking animals movies with their zany hijinks that I need to see for the time being. Over the Hedge doesn't even look like it'll be as good as Shark Tale. Oh, but look, it's got a belching squirrel and a gassy skunk. The potential for hilarity has never been greater!

BellsOfWar 05-08-06 01:34 AM

one thing this movie has going for it is it's 84 minutes long. we're being told to maximize screen time which means we'll probably show 5 and maybe even 6 shows a day. a box office dark horse to rake lots of money.

joeydaninja 05-08-06 03:07 AM

Nope, but I'll probably watch it anyway. Because only I can make a sequel :D

FantasticVSDoom 05-08-06 07:47 AM

Looks entertaining, but will probably be a rental, or a dvd that my mother in law buys for me so Ill end up waiting...

The Bus 05-08-06 09:04 AM

This is the talking-animal-in-CGI movie I am looking forward too this year. (If you think that's too specific, I can probably name at least a dozen). I also think that this movie is going to be one of the top blockbusters of this year. Mark my words!

chess 05-08-06 09:45 AM

Depending on early reviews, I'm probably in.

Shark Tale SUCKED though, so I'll definitely wait for the reviews.

Truer words have never been spoken. Count me in as loving Antz, Shrek, and Shrek 2, but Shark Tale was a top 5 worst animated movie for me personally.

I'm surprised the wife didn't want to see The Wild, and surprised again she doesn't really want to see Over the Hedge. But we will be lined up for Cars about 4 days before it opens.
