I'd rather smash my head against a brick wall than watch a movie where they use an English accent to portray an Australian character.

Imagine casting someone with a thick Canadian accent to play a prominent American person and you'll understand what I mean.

I suppose the rest of the world will lap it up and not even notice though.

Maybe he's talking about The Wild? Eddie Izzard plays the Koala Bear. I doubt little kids give a rats ass about stuff like that though. Eddie Izzard was pretty good in The Wild, definitely saved the movie for me.

I know was disappointed with Shark Tales and Madagascar, so i'm kinda weary about Over the Hedge. My kids really want to see it and it does look funny so i'll probably end up taking them sooner or later.

Man you're right. Sorry about the confusion. Wrong movie.

Um... I dont think people care. Actors do it all the time. Kate Winslet did it in eternal sunshine, hugh laurie does it on house, everyone in art school confidential is british. Mel Gibson in his early movies. Guy Pierce in memento. Why would anyone be bothered by this?

As for the topic at hand, I want to see it, but I'll wait for dvd. Shark tale and robots were the only cg movies I didn't like. Didnt see the wild.

I loved shrek and madagascar, shrek 2 was ok, shark tale is watchable at 2am. Over the hedge looks cool, but im uncertain about Cars, i HATED robots, that movie sucked, and this one looks pretty similar.

I love the trailer. Especially the one that has the squirrel saying "but I like the cookie" or something like that. Cracks me up every time. I'll definitely be seeing this one with the family.

Yes Shark Tale DID suck!

Hated the ugly animation. Whenever animals are given human-lilke faces it makes them ever the creepier. Don't like it when they give girl animals women-like bodies either. A fish or squirrel with a waist and boobs and giant lips and eyelashes is grotesque. Shark Tale tried way too hard to be so culturally aware, and glorifying materialistic gansta culture is really repulsive. As for the rest of the animated movies, I could give a rat's ass about "celebrity voices". Anyone who goes to see animated movies based on whose voices are in it needs a life. In fact I would rather NOT be able to recognize any of the voices and just enjoy the characters for their animated interest, and not trying to get the image of them standing at a microphone wearing headphones "acting" their part, out of my mind. They always HAVE to include this pointless crap in the "extras" on the dvds. Does anyone really care that much and if you do ....why?

Anyone go see this yet?

I am going tomorrow to take my 3 year old son. He says he wants to see it, he liked Madagascar so this should be entertaining to him as well.

Saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially RJ's speech about food.

This is a great movie. NOT anything like Shrek or Ice Age or Shark Tale... This might be the funniest CG film I've seen and ranks up there with Pixar's best. Go see it.

 Yep! We saw it over the weekend, and I wasn't sure it was going to be that good, but was pleasantly surprised. :) There were a lot of funny bits, and RJ's speech about food was great. Best scenes were the ones with the squirrel, rotfl especially
Spoiler:
the slo-mo one after he drank the caffeinated drink!!

rotfl  "But I LOVES me the cookie!" rotfl Great character! That reminds me of my favorite scene, when he said that
Spoiler:
from clear across the yard, when he was on the roof for the big "heist".... the theater was dying laughing!
